3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask (Kittyís, Helsinki)
Very dark reddy-brown, large loose head (no sparkler - skroo yoo Burton Bridge :-p !) Rich roasty aroma, plenty of fruity esters. Slightly thin in the mouth, but not exactly watery. Can we compromise on it being a refreshing palate? Big (in porter terms) burnt taste - strong coffee thrust, and some of the fruity esters too. Nice bitter burnt finish - yay hops!
Post-tasting research (can be added to the commercial description, as itís mostly lifted from their home page):
This appears to be related to their Damson Porter, but without the Target hops (this is Challenger only - yay single hop!), with no crystal malts, and brewed mostly to 5% rather than 4.5%. What it does have in common is the general style and that they are both flavoured with damson juice.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cask (gravity) - The Fat Cat Brewery Tap/Cider Shed, Norwich. Slowly disappearing, doming light brown head atop a black/opaque brown body. Tangy sharp damson, red berries, some vinegar, hints of oak, roast & yeast. More sherry berry tang, touches of chocolate, yeast, earth, damp, roasted malt and a drop of coffee. Medium body, soft mouthfeel, lingering dry bitterness and tangy aftertaste.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask conditioned at The Turf Tavern, Oxford. Black with tan head. Thinnish stout with an odd fruity element, just noticed damson juice in the description, the fruitiness gives it the taste of a mild, but there is a light smokiness too. Reasonable without breaking any barriers.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask, 2nd Hinckley Beer Festival. First truly pitch brew of the night, with faint ruby glints, rim of tan. Bonfire aroma of burnt wood and oak chip drizzled with balsamic vinegar. Full charred and bittering hop IBUs, fighting beanspout dankness. Cream and mildew. A bit wrong, but enjoyable.

cask at Kitty’s Helsinki 220808 murky dark brown creamy head. Tasty I thought on first sip but about roasted malts but then it turned to thin and bit watery. Long lasting roasted malts aftertaste bit chocolate too but I wasn’t so thrilled that TDS bit earlier
