This month’s story :- On 16th March 1971 four young men from the North West of England, namely Graham Lees, Bill Mellor, Michael Hardman and Jim Makin in desperation formed the Campaign for the Revitalisation of Ale. They were on holiday at the time and in Krugers Bar in Co. Kerry when they dec ided that they must do something about the poor state of British beer. This was effectively the start of CAMRA and these men deserve recognition for forty years of beer revitalisation.

Cask conditioned at Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Gold with slight head. Quite a dull maltiness, wet cardboard, a little lifeless, didn’t get the hops. Quite a shame really.
