Cask at The Kelham Island Tavern, Sheffield, ’The Peoples Republic of South Yorkshire’ on the Valley of Beer Day 16-08-08 Pours warm golden, small white head. This reminds me of a good slightly old fashioned bitter in many respects with some soapy hops, its absolutely fine.

Cask (Live and Let Live, Cambridge) (2004)
Pleasant gold, small head. Sweet zest aroma. OK sweet malty body and decent crisp hoppy finish. Nothing wrong with it, just didn’t stand out from the crowd.

Cask at the Swan in the Rushes, Loughborough. Golden colour with nice, creamy white head, excellent lacing. Sweet malty aroma. Flavours are sweet butterscotch, caramel and malt. A bit sweet but still pretty good.

JDW, Maidstone. Toffee malt with a soft citric top. The name comes from the use of Goldings and Phoenix hops, and is clearly another Olympic special. The style is a bit odd - a Golden Ale edging toward an APA, but retaining English qualities in the toffee notes and the dusty finish.
