First tasted this in The Three Judges, Glasgow in March 2003. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale russet colours which change with depth giving an unusual colour scheme. Creamy white head. Hint of burnt caramel in the short aroma. Resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a digestive biscuit malt base with soft smokey sweet toffee notes. This sweet base jars with the increasingly resiny hop flowers which dominate the aftertase with dry bitter notes. Finish is bitter sweet with toffee malt just edging it from the solid hop resins. An interesting beer to seek out - even for the colour alone.

Very easy to drink for its alcohol level. This is a well hopped bitter that is nice, but not the best that Burton Bridge offers.
