Sledge Jr (2720), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Mar 30, 2008 Sampled at the 2008 Crescent Moon Extreme Beerfest. Pours hazy amber with a big off white head. A strong fruity aroma. Toasted almonds in the flavor. Raisin plum pudding. Mild roasted bitterness to the finish.
thewolf (3959), Kolding, Denmark Oct 2, 2008 Bottle @ Chris_o’s Pre-Beer Exposed Tasting, September 2008.
Pours hazy, pale, brown with a nice, creamy, white head. Aroma is malty, light oranges and yeast. High carbonation, okay mouthfeel. Flavour is dry, some oranges and lots of hops. Very close to getting a bit sour, but still okay. The_Captain (317), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 6, 2008 Bottle but different label, same beer same brewery. A cloudy light orange pour with a small foam head, some lacing. A yeast rye quality with an earthiness about it. Very mild on the pallet but refreshing. In the tasting some thought it was too mild and watery but I felt it was the easy drinking malt quality that made it palatable. Good Strong Ale but probably not strong enough. jzzbassman (687), New Albany, Mississippi, USA Aug 12, 2008 Poured a light hazed orange with a big head that took awhile to pour. Aroma of pancake syrup and yeast. Flavor is really one dimensional over the top caramel, finishing long and sweet. uhclem (131), Loveland, Colorado, USA May 17, 2008 Pours a murky orange. Stable off-white head and moderate lacing. Nose is of pine needles and earth. Taste brings out the pine needles again, along with orange peel. Mouthfeel starts out light and fizzy, but soon settles down to a more solid feel. Crisp. Aftertaste is decent, with a good bit of bitterness. AleDude (23), USA May 9, 2008 watery, sour taste. very "vodka-like" flavor, and not good vodka. Definitely pass on this.
