watery, sour taste. very "vodka-like" flavor, and not good vodka. Definitely pass on this.

2001 vintage - That was just ever so slightly past it’s prime. A very yeasty flavor, and a somewhat metallic taste, almost musty, faint flavors or spice and a musty bready maltiness. Although this was old, you could still tell at one time this was a really delicious beer. Finishes with some woody earthy notes. I would love to try a fresh sample of this.

PorterPounder (4612) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - APR 5, 2008
Orlando, Fl. - Knightly Spirits, 500 ml bottle. Slighlty murky, dark peach colored pour with an extremely frothy white head. Aroma of yeast, baked bread, dried apricots Flavor has some raw cookie dough flavor to it, some yeast, a hint of citrus and a faint trace of molasses. Hoping for a bit more bitterness. Tastes a bit stronger than 6.5. Sticky mouthfeel, a bit cluttered. Overall, average.

Sampled at the 2008 Crescent Moon Extreme Beerfest. Pours hazy amber with a big off white head. A strong fruity aroma. Toasted almonds in the flavor. Raisin plum pudding. Mild roasted bitterness to the finish.

Murky copper color with a medium head. Slight caramel aroma and oddly enough, sour fruit. Definitely a sour malt taste. Dry and bready English malts. Slight bitterness.

500 ml. Orange-copper with a huge foam on top. Aromas of sourish fruit, bready yeast, and dried wood. Flavor is tart cherry, apple, spicy yeast, and earthy wood. Tastes like a lambic yeast was used in combination with English malt and hops in this one. Aftertaste has some nice notes of chocolate and roasted malt. Nearly medium body is dry and astringent. Definitely unique brew.

Thanks to the owner of Aldgate for pulling this brew out and sharing it with us. Copper with a foamy white head. Aroma of fruits, sweet malts, hops, some floral. The fruits add a nice twist to the flvor here when I was expecting mainly hops. Finish is tart and bitter. Different, but enjoyable.

Glowing amber. Large, fluffy, off white head settles to a small, creamy layer. Aroma of pungent light fruits, airy and zesty yeast, sweet malt, and subtly bitter, melon like hops. Flavor has a lot more bitterness, caramel, and floral notes in addition to those in the aroma. Finish is very dry with bitter hops, airy yeast, and subtle alcohol. Medium/full body, well carbonated while maintaining some softness, still too bubbly. Strange brew.

This English Strong ale pours a deep orange gold color from a 500ml bottle. Large sized white foamy head, that only dissipates very slowly. Aroma is funky, fruity, tart, malty, caramel and sweet. A medium bodied English Strong Ale. Malts are caramel and sweet. Hops are earthy and floral. There is some tartness and funk going on here, interesting. There is also strong bready and cookie malts going on as well. An English beer with some balls or should I saw bollocks. Big bold malts and vinous flavors, interesting combination. Lively carbonation. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter and a touch barnyard.
