COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION Cask; Special (Gold Medal Ale series) - December 2010. Gold Medal Ales are produced monthly in recognition of some of the ’greats’ of history. This month’s story :- In 1846, Tom Smith, a London confectioner invented the Christmas Cracker. Initially they were silent and he put sweets in them, but changed to novelties at about the same time as he added the snap into the cracker. Tom’s crackers are still being produced today and the Tom Smith Group are the largest producers of crackers in the world. So if you pull a cracker this Christmas, raise a glass in praise of Tom. Colour: Light golden Nose: Spicy Taste: Dry & Hoppy Hops: Crystal & Challenger
