COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Special (Gold Medal Ale series) - July 2006.

William Archibold Spooner was born in London on 22nd July 1844. At 18 he won a scholarship to New College, Oxford, where he remained for the rest of his life. His academic work has not stood the test of time, but his transposition of words and letters earned his Spoonerisms a place in the Oxford English Dictionary.

Derby BF 2006. Amber, almost no head. Slightly caramel in the scent and lots of hops but nothing else in the mouth. Very very bitter, and slightly sulphuric.

Cask, Cow and Plough, Stoughton. Amber with a small head. Aromas are caramel and toffee malts with some sulphur. Flavours are tea with caramel and toffee malts. Typically Burtonesque. Pretty good.

I thought it was another brewery, it says it is an awarded one, it was nice, but too bitter to me.

Amber colour, smal frothy head. Moderate hoppiness, bit sulphury, caramel. Bitter taste, harsh on the finish. Very dry. I’ve got "urgh" written down, guess I didn’t enjoy this.
