COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Special (Gold Medal Ale series) - December 2006.

Tom King ‘the fighting sailor’ became the first official Heavyweight Champion of the World on 20th December 1863 after defeating the American fighter John C Heenan at Cockmouth Farm, East Sussex. Heenan relied on brawn and wrestling, but King using skill and pugilistic science won the bout in the 24th round almost unscathed. King fought very selectively after that and he retired after successfully defending his title to make a fortune as a bookmaker before marrying the daughter of a wealthy ship owner.

Cask@The Wenlock Arms. A below average bitter. Nose is quite sulfuric. Palate is thin, with a watery mouthfeel. What flavour there is, is balanced between hop and malt.

cask at the wenlock arms. decent shade of amber with a tiny head. musty, old book aroma suggested some staleness. fat in the mouth, quite citric sour with a worryingly eggy finish
