500ml bottle (Hilpea Haukki, Helsinki)
6+ Mulled wine aroma, spice and some grape.
5 Deep deep red, lovely light tight beige head.
5 Slightly uriny retronasals, some spice too.
2 Watery palate, thin and a bit fizzy. Finish has some pissiness like the pissiest orval I’ve ever had. But this beer isn’t Orval, that shouldn’t be here.
10 Sup par. Disappointed. 4.5% is not an excuse for being feeble. BB can do much better than this.

Bottle at home ... Deep red brown ... bubbly tan head ... sweet roast malt ...light fizz ... wishy washy ... thin oxidised cardboardy toffee malts ...

Bottle from beersofeurope. A thin and rather sour porter that probably would turn santa off.

Bottle 500ml.

Light unclear medium to dark brown amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, spicy, tobacco notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, dark malt, peppery, spicy. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110102]

From 500ml bottle at tasting with Jan & Charlotte on 2 January 2011. Dark red colour. Quite spicy but not too over the top. Some peppery notes. Bitterness at the end. A fairly decent drop.

Dark brown black with thin tan head. Smoke and coffee in aroma. Thin mouthfeel and lacking in flavour. Some malts. Lacking in the flavour department.

tkrjukoff (2673) - SWEDEN - NOV 29, 2010
Pours clear dark mahogany brown with minimal tanned head. Barely any carbonation. Aroma of prunes, caramel, chocolate, slight tones of coffee and malts. Very thin body for a porter, fruity mouthfeel. Flavor is a bit tart hoppy, sour and slightly fruity. Palate, no, I’m afraid. Finishes sour tart with slight fruit tones.

500 ml bottle, probably from Pigs Ear 2008.. Some dark fruit and vineagar in the aroma. Dark brown beer, little carbonation or head. Not very pleasant, this is a bit stale. Prunes, some ashes, but there is a sour edge that I doubt was intended. Sorry, but no thanks.
