COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION Cask; Special (Gold Medal Ale series) - October 2007. Henry Sturmey, the Editor of the Autocar Magazine set out on October 19th 1897 from Land’s End to make the first ever endurance run to John 0’ Groats. In a British built Daimler motor car he completed the gruelling 929 miles in two weeks. The resultant publicity helped Daimler to sell 89 cars in their first year. By 1902 Sturmey had co-founded the Sturmey Archer cycle gear company and is probably best remembered for that rather than this pioneering run. Colour: Amber Hops: Horizon & Pioneer
