COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION Cask; Special (Gold Medal Ale series) - February 2007. Straw coloured with lingering bitterness. Brewed with Bramling Cross and Progress hops. Who’s for Sphairistike? (Greek for ball game) must have been the cry in 1874 when Major Walter Wingfield patented a game played on an hour glass court with a net stretched across the middle. Others developed similar games at the same time but he was the one who patented his rules. Fortunately the game survived but the name did not and Walter is now considered to be the Father of lawn tennis. Colour: Straw Taste: Lingering bitterness Hops: Brambling Cross & Progress
