Not impressed with this and not worthy of the name of such a good song, the beer appeared cloudy and lifeless, the taste was bland but not offensive

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - OCT 12, 2011
Tasted this in the Saltcot, Saltcoats (JDW) in October 2009. Cask handpump dispense. Clear pale amber with a thin creamy white head. Fresh green apple in the short aroma. Thin mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give slight digestive biscuit malt with only a gooseberry fruit note evident. Dusty hops dominate the resiny bitter aftertaste with a heavy astringency. Very dry and bitter finish. One for the hop lovers out there but not for me.

Cask (gravity) - The Fat Cat, Norwich. Poured clear & golden with a disappearing, bubbly one finger white head. A mild honey tone to the aroma with some perfumey fruits. Apple, yeast and a good grassy hop bitterness to the flavour. Light to medium body, soft on the palate with a short, dry bitter hop & yeasty finish.

Ok white lacing, golden copper appearance, floral, perfume and sulphar on the nose, lemon, citrus, stringent texture, quite sharp on the tongue. Metallic off-taste, some butterscotch, crisp and lemony finish.
Ok standard pale ale. A bit boring.
