COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Special (Gold Medal Ale series) - January 2008.

The Trademarks Act came into being on the first of January 1876 and a luckless employee of a Burton firm of solicitors spent New Year’s Eve and night outside Trademarks House. He registered the world’s first trademark, the triangle of a prominent Burton brewer. This beer is a tribute to that forgotten hero and to Talbots Solicitors who have outlasted the brewer. The hops in this beer are good old Fuggles and Goldings and it should bear a passing resemblance to that famous triangular pale ale.

Colour: Amber
Nose: Well hopped
Taste: Classic bitterness
Hops: Fuggles & Golding

Another in the series of Gold Medal Ales. The commercial description presumably refers to Bass. Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Amber with a small white head. Buttery malt aroma. A very faint sourness, but the butter predominates. Too much so in my opinion. Slight bitterness.
