duff (5474), Surrey, Greater London, England Jun 28, 2004 Bottle. Oldschool flavour. Has that Orvalish cosmetic, yeasty, farmyardy, dry orange peel type flavour, but is couple with with some toffee apple and caramel/chocolate. Dry, salty finish, medium bitter, but finishes quite dry. Funky and fun, reminded me of one of eczematics homebrews. fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Jun 7, 2004 Cloudy dark amber color; creamy head, dark and light shades, like a cappuccino. Well malty, sweet, warming. Not very complex, but enjoyable. omhper (12155), Stockholm, Sweden May 30, 2004 Bottled. Reddish brown. Banana and almond aroma. Sweet and malty. Fruity and raisiny. Complex and powerful. Good and interesting. IPFreely (1470), Lewiston, New York, USA May 20, 2004 Some interesting play with the berry flavors with some spice and almost some cidery notes. Alcohol not all that well hidden. Interesting English take on the Belgian style. jerc (3861), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 16, 2004 Orange amber body is nice, and definitely a different experience. Lots of alochol is fairly noticable. Fairly complex flavours with some sour notes and various spices that mingle across the mouth. RichardGretton (3131), Leicestershire, England Apr 10, 2004 Good looking dark brown beer with a strong roasted aroma and a very strong flavour with a very, very dry finish. Overall an average strong English beer. mrkimchee (1414), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Mar 28, 2004 Updated: Apr 1, 2004I love these burton beers. deep orangey colour with a foamy white head. flowery yeast, fruit, spicey anise and caramel aroma. flavour follows with some berry-ish and hard candy notes. big alcohol really tickles the brain. lots of fun. frylock (998), Buffalo, New York, USA Mar 25, 2004 Dark orangeish brown with a small white head. Fruity malty aroma with a hint of chocolate. Floral, spicy malt flavors. Peppery spiced fisnish. Lacks the yeasty quality of a belgian dubbel, but is spiced quite nicely. Very enjoyable.
