[At Fete de la Biere 2004, Lausanne] A dark amber beer with a fine lasting beige head. The aroma is faint of oranges. The flavor is very powerful, but rather simple for an Abbey Dubbel; it is very spicy of which some are hops and coriander, which gives it a dry end. The flavor also contains notes of citrus.

(Bottle 50 cl) Hazy, dark orangey golden with a fine, small, creamy, beige coloured head. Aroma of yeast and alcohol. Sweetish flavours of caramel and overripe plums. Distinct, warming alcohol and a slightly sour edge in the finish. Interesting brew. 040805

Cloudy dark amber. Candyish (rockets, oh yeah!), with lime and lots of phenols, with a hint of biscuity malt. Fruity taste (pear, slight peach), more phenolic that most in style. Stiff, flavourful, tasty.

Cloudy dark amber color; creamy head, dark and light shades, like a cappuccino. Well malty, sweet, warming. Not very complex, but enjoyable.

500ml bottle from Notts BF 07. Way too strong and unsubtle. Clear chestnut colour with really thick beige head. Strong fruity aroma. Syrupy malt, hot alcohol. Plums are the fruits in the mouth. Good condition though.
