COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Special (Gold Medal Ale series) - December 2009.

Gold Medal Ales are produced monthly in recognition of some of the ’greats’ of history. This month’s story :-
December 31st 1986 the National Coal Board (N.C.B.) announced that more than two hundred colliery canaries were to be made redundant after 75 years’ ’featherful’ service. The canaries, being particularly sensitive to toxic gasses, were used to detect them underground. However, the birds were replaced by electronic gadgets which wouldn’t go ’cheep’, but would detect a wider range of dangerous gasses. We salute our feathered friends with this golden beer.

Colour: Rich Gold
Nose: Aromatic citrusy hop
Taste: A refreshing bitterness
Hops: Challenger & Cascade

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Yet another in the seemingly endless, but almost always rewarding series of ’Gold Medal Ales’ from the Bridge. Copper coloured with a small white head. Hairy malt aroma. Full slightly painty malt taste, better than it sounds. Mid bitter finish. Decent beer.
