Cask at The Moon Under Water, Wolverhampton. As ’Burton Bridge XL Bitter’. Old school pump clip. Pale orange, clear, still, small bubbly white head. Aroma is biscuit, buttery, a little sulphur. Body is rounded, smooth, soft carbonation. Taste is light citrus, biscuit, cardboard, musty bitter finish. Not bad.

On cask at Victoria Lounge Bar, Hanley. Pours copper with off white head. Quite a pleasant smooth start but dies into a watery wishwash. OK.

Cask-conditioned at the Staffordshire Beer festival, Seven Stars, Bristol 6/10/10. Amber coloured with a slight, off-white head. Slightly sweet, malty flavour with some citrus and apricot fruit. Flavour had more fruitiness and earthy malts, before a pleasantly bitter finish. Drinkable.

Pours out a deep gold, yeasty, malty nose, real old fashioned style bitter, bready, yeasty, earthy body with slight mushroomy flavour that if it was anymore pronouced would be unpleasant but just about gets away with. The body is clean & light with a delicate dry finish. Nothing spectacular but a solid enough quaffer.

Cask at the Hole In The Wall, Southsea, UK on 16th October 2009. Amber with very small whitish head which quickly dissipates to leave a ring of foam round the edge. Strong malt aromas - biscuit/cookie notes before a kick featuring hop strongly shrouded in maltiness with a bitter sweet finish on a smooth, slightly creamy mouthfeel. Pleasant pint.

cask at Kitty’s Helsinki 260808 dark yellow tasty grapefruity bit fruity as well. Hmm I was expecting more bitterness by name but maybe I had tasted too many double IPA:s recently.
