Cask, The Crown, Nuneaton. Ruby with beige halo. Butter and vinegar aroma. Hint of apple fruit, caramel, mild-like wispy smoke and chocolate. Dark vinous fruit struggling to escape. Not a beer to quicken the pulse. Tired and very dull at the ABV.

Cask beer, no sparkler, The Grove Huddersfield, 29.06.07 Lightly fruity (prune and cherry), light malt and light bitter nose. Cloudy appearnace, amber colour with white frothy head totally gone in 5 mins. Moderately bitter with slight sweetness. Palate slightly watery but with some sl alcohol in finish. Pleasant beer, slips down easy for 5.3 - good finish of sweet prunes and a bit of bitterness to stop it being too cloying.
