Cask (gravity dispense) at Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival, 4 February 2010. Pale amber colour. Sweaty malt aroma. Rather bready. Thin. Not great. Maybe something not quite right here. Even though the score is not abnormally low I’ve Flagged for re-rate.

Cask at the Brunswick Arms, Derby. Bright gold with a thin off-white head; tropical fruit aroma; rather thin body with chewy malt flavours, and a dry mouth-draining finish.

Cask, The Criterion, Leicester. Amber with beige bubbles. Aromas are sweet mellow caramel with very sweet tea, pepper and citrus. Flavours are creamy with caramel. Very smooth and syrupy on the palate. Has brown sugar sweetness. Lightly fruity with pear, some tea. Hop spices on the finish. Overall quite thin and fleeting in character.
