It gets you drunk...for cheap...its cheap as anything. And since when did a college student have any standards? Come on, that should have gone out the window the first weekend... To the bar!!!

although this beer might not smell, tase, or look good, it is cheap. In college, quantity is more important than quality and this beer gets the job done just fine. If you’re looking for a good beer, stay away. But, if you want to get drunk for $10 a case, look no further than Busch Light.

Can: Courtesy of MikeMac at the Unicorn Lounge. After all those gimmicy bourbon barrel aged beers at the MBG Winter Beer Festival it’s nice to see a brewer remain true to the art of can-aging. Wonderful aroma of grassy skunkiness with a hint of malt. Nice transparent pale yellow with a nice fizzy white head. As I do with most macro pale lagers, I compare the appearance to Labatt Blue Light which is my standard for a 1 rating in appearance. This looks better than LBL so by default it gets a 2. Watery in general with a hint of sugary sweetness up front and a hint of grassy hops in the finish. You can do worse.

On Tap (at a place that had $4 pitchers, so a buddy and I went to check it out, only options: Busch and Busch Light): As nice as the bar I had it in. Also the clientele of the place was about what I would expect for the average drinker of this stuff, shall we say economically and intellectually chanllenged? The beer itself was watered down, metallic with corn adjunts and sugar flavors.

First half of the 24 oz can I purchased was almost tolerable... but it got worse.

Of all the macro-brewery light offerings, this is my fave. Probably because, if my father-in-law hasn’t stocked up the Blatz for me, this is what we drink. Not a lot of flavor, but surprisingly, gentle. The kind of beer that the girlies like, and not too faggy for a guy to be seen with either. If it came down to Miller Lite, Bud Lite and Busch Light, I’m heading for the mountains (to search for a stash of Blatz light!).

Ultra pale yellow with a fast, fizzy head and light effervescence. Nightmarish aromas of sulphur, corn, DMS and chlorine. This was the first beer that I wished the "aroma" slider would go negative. Light sweetness with corn in a body that is actually thicker than I would have liked. I wanted this to be thin and tasteless and as inoffensive as a Coors Light. Instead, this ugly beer held the perfect combination of offensiveness to sicken my stomach, my head, hell... my entire body.

UPDATED: APR 25, 2008 next to non existent aroma, watery grain flavor, and body so thin it’s positively anorexic.
