Palidor19 (1245), Brandon, Florida, USA Sep 21, 2006 Strong stuff!!! Like a fine whiskey at first sip. Even cold it warms you up quickly with high malt content
tarjei (1131), Bryne, Norway Aug 5, 2008 25 cl bottle, bought in Oostende. Amber color, fine off-white head. Aroma is sweet and malty with fruit. Flavor is sweet, caramel malt, dark/dried fruit, alcohol. Not bad, but too much sweetness and alcohol. Todeon (166), Höllviken, Sweden Aug 1, 2008 Bottle. Pours a nice golden color. Aroma is really sweet with some caramel and fruit. Taste is a bit sweet with lots of fruit and caramel. A bit high carbonation. Finish is a bit warming with some alcohol notes. blipp (683), Grand Island, New York, USA Jul 28, 2008 Bottle. Pours unclear orange with a fizzy white head. Aroma is rather sweet with honey and apple. Medium body. Flavor is again sweet, with caramel, fruit, spice, and booze. Dry finish. Not bad. BoBoChamp (618), Gent, Belgium Jul 21, 2008 25cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex, yet very heavy, clear, nearly no head, good strong brew, but not balanced darkguardian (166), Florida, USA Jul 17, 2008 12 oz bottle at Coffee District. Pours a lightly hazy amber with a small foamy off white head. Sweet honey aroma with some definite caramel and apple in the nose. Very strong belgian, a little to strong. Alcohol is in your face but the taste that accompanies is very nice indeed. Tons of honey and citrus but no real hope presence. Alot of vanilla and caramel in the finish and a spice note. This is actually very similar to some of the better tripels but with a bit less spice and stronger alcohol. Well done.
