It was created in 1933 by Alfred Dubuisson, grand-father of the present family brewer, Hugues. Its former name was "Bush Beer 24°" (the density in Ballings), but today it is known as Bush Amber. Its amber colour is due to the use of caramel malt in the production process. Its bitter sweet taste provides it with firmness and personality. What's more, it helps digestion.

Bottle @ home. Aged 4 years. Pours hazy amber color with a tan head. Sweet caramel aroma. Syrup, biscuits, notable alcohol and a some vinous plums. A light phenolic note of almonds. Big sweet mouth feel that is smooth initially with an increasing sticky but balanced alcohol character. Loads of caramel. Also toffee, plums, raisins, honey, spices, biscuits, oak and hints of vanilla. Finish is dry with a moderate and lasting spicy bitterness. Lingering warming booze & honey.

Amber colour, tan head, very carbonated. Aroma is spicy, fruity, strong alcohol. The taste begins sweet, fruity, later slight bitterness, caramel, and very strong booze aftertaste that warms your throat.

Bottle at la porteuse d’eau, brussels. Hazy deep amber with white head. Sweet honey and candy aroma and sweet taste followed by alcoholic bitterness. A little burning sensation down the throat, smooth and full-bodied. Didn’t like it at all.

Un’ambrata molto pesante. Corposa di ottima struttura, sprigiona sentori di caramello e biscotto al palato, lieviti molto aromatici, luppoli sopraffini

Bottle from de Bierschuur in Poppel. The beer has (as the name says) an amber color and a rich head, with a lot of bubbles. Aroma is dark fruits, spices, malts. The taste is a mixture of malts and spices with a good spice and hop aftertaste that goes into a spice flavor and an alcohol warming in the end. Nicely done this beer, a little strong for me, but the idea is good.

Color is clear amber; quickly dissipating white head; lasting white layer - Aroma of malt, red fruits, maybe banana, biscuits, some spices, some yeast - sweet taste, very light bitterness - medium to full body, rather thick texture, average carbonation - sweet, fruity finish.

A decent strong Amber. Pours a very nice bright orange with lots of sediment. Smells fruity and malty, raspberries and plums. Taste is very malty and boozy, with a Caramelized sugar that sticks with you long after the drink. Had in the bottle.

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 18E). Bottle 33 cl - Batch B4 07 4. AROMA: sweet malt background with caramel and spicy notes. strong spicy alcohol presence but not solventy. APPEARANCE: coppery color and translucent. average ivory head with good retention. lacing is present due to high alcohol derived viscosity. TASTE: sweet caramely like flavour. high alcohol presence. low bitterness and a semi-sweet finish. PALATE: medium-low body with a strong alcohol presence. OVERALL: a beer that lacks the malt complexity of the competition and with a very strong alcohol presence.
