It was created in 1933 by Alfred Dubuisson, grand-father of the present family brewer, Hugues. Its former name was "Bush Beer 24°" (the density in Ballings), but today it is known as Bush Amber. Its amber colour is due to the use of caramel malt in the production process. Its bitter sweet taste provides it with firmness and personality. What's more, it helps digestion.

Clear amber orange beer, small off-white head. Nose is caramel, malt, some alcohol, sweetness, spice, hop notes. Flavor has malts and caramel, some orange notes, hints of yeast, hops, spicy alcohol. Finishes pretty boozy, lingering caramel, orange and booze. Too boozy for me.

Kopparfärgad, lätt beslöjad öl med lättare smutsvitt skum. Fruktighet och viss kryddighet i doften. Torkad frukt och lätt bitter mandel i smaken.

Fľaša 0,33 l. Tmavšia polotmavá farba, pena rýchlo opadla, ale drží, v aróme cítiť kvasnice a alkohol. Chuť jemne nasládlá karamelová, rezký nástup, slabšia horkosť, alkoholový dojazd. Pivo má vysoké grády, ale je piteľné.

Bottle. Clear bronze body, instantly disappearing head. Aroma has sugary caramel and notes of booze that comes later. Sweet alcoholic taste with some roast. Pretty high carbonation. Has three components: booze, sugar and medium roasty malt. Has no real complexity so the high rating here is perplexing. Every nuance that the high reviews list here can also be found in any other super strong beer. This is a very basic boozy Belgian Strong Ale that seems to be heavily overrated for its intoxicating capabilities.

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2015 Uitgeschonken in het mooie craquelé Bush bier graalglas.

11.2 oz bottle from Ridgewood Winery (in Ridgewood, NJ) for 5.40 Appearance: Light caramel orange-brown/copper with a small, quickly disappearing white head, looks like an amber with more alcohol (which it clearly is) Aroma: Mostly some sweetness (caramel/toffee level,) and some whiskey-ish (rye) aroma, the later more expected for the strength, a bit of an underlying spice. Taste: Rye whiskey (esque) in front along with caramel and a nutty/toffee sweetness. Some spice as well, thought his hits more in the palate. Definite sipper as the alcohol is intense if not. Palate: It’s a bit spicy if not sipped. Otherwise, not bad, a bit of coating sweetness. Overall: A bit less balanced than your general Belgian beer. Sweetness and spice from the alcohol mostly. A bit too peppery to be a favorite but it does what it claims to do.
