It was created in 1933 by Alfred Dubuisson, grand-father of the present family brewer, Hugues. Its former name was "Bush Beer 24°" (the density in Ballings), but today it is known as Bush Amber. Its amber colour is due to the use of caramel malt in the production process. Its bitter sweet taste provides it with firmness and personality. What's more, it helps digestion.

Bottle. Beautiful orange copper color with stable foam head and vertical carbonation bubbles. Nice. Aroma is Speciale Belge with notes of apple juice, cider, hay, hint of lemon. Ok. Taste is quite boozy, but fruity. Apple juice, rose hip, hint of marzipan, cherry liquor. Development is hairspray, boozy sourness. Tingles the nose (!). Aftertaste is apple juice, dry. Too much alcohol for me.

April 11th 2015: tasting@Svijet piva, Zagreb. Shared with Dami, Habek and Radoš. I drank this back in 2008 in Brussels, but didn’t rate it then. Clear amber color, off-white head, diminished quickly. Caramel and raisins in aroma, alcohol kick just like in Bush blonde, but slightly less intense, sweet, woody. Warming, bitter, alcoholic, long finish. Pretty good.

330 bottles. Pour clear amber with thin head. Fruityness and sweetness. Malt, molasses, caramel, apricot. Great beer. Like a dopplebock with an ale caracter.

Amber to copper colored, light off white head. Aroma is of candy sugar, quite sweet, some spice and a bit of alcohol. Taste fairly sweet brown sugar, caramel, candy, fruits, spices, boozy with alcohol warmth which lingers in the aftertaste. Some low to moderate bitterness in the finish. Dry sugary sticky, medium to full bodied.

Poured from a bottle into a St Feuillien glass. Pours amber copper with modest head and lace. Note...this bottle is at least 5 years old. Aroma of sweet malts, alcohol and powder sugar. Medium carbonation and big mouthfeel. Flavors of rich malts, powder sugar, raisins, prunes, alcohol, slight herbs and chocolate. Overall big, bold, and quite flavorful despite the age.

Clear amber color, minimal white head. Aroma is caramel and malt. Mostly malt. Taste is liquor, pretty boozy, caramel, heavy sweet. Thin body. Boozy finish. All in all, too sweet and too boozy. Like they even didn’t try to hide it. Don’t like it.

Courtesy of Pornoguru (thanks Nikola!), shared with him and Jablanko. Possibly ogivlado as well. The last beer of the tasting. Hah. Poured an amber-orange body with a lovely white head. Boozy malty aroma, apples, Belgian spiciness. Sweet, remarkably light matly taste, thin for the percentage. Again, not my style. Better than the Blonde.

UPDATED: MAY 16, 2015 Pale to medium, opaque amber pour with a thick, but diminishing, slightly off white, bubbly head with plenty of small, clear suspended particles in the glass. The bitterness is long lasting, though dull and the taste becomes more sweet than bitter halfway in. The aroma & taste is a little fruity with a medium-strong vodka like alcohol presence, and even some sourness. I would compare this in some ways to a slightly better than mediocre, homemade wine; Its a little rough around the edges, has a kick to it & gets easier to drink halfway through. Overall its enjoyable and a great brew to sip on before dinner.
