COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It was created in 1933 by Alfred Dubuisson, grand-father of the present family brewer, Hugues. Its former name was "Bush Beer 24°" (the density in Ballings), but today it is known as Bush Amber. Its amber colour is due to the use of caramel malt in the production process. Its bitter sweet taste provides it with firmness and personality. What's more, it helps digestion.

250ml bottle from Beer Hawk. A hazy amber body, dense white head. Aroma of malt, honey and a harsh spirit along the lines of rum. The alcohol is present from the first sip, but stays in the background until the aftertaste comes. The flavour starts quite sweet, but turns floral, toffee with a hint of banana. Long, dry finish. Not one to have more than one of at a time.

Pours golden color with a medium head. Aroma of toffee, caramel malts, lots of ripe fruits, yeast and some alcohol. Flavor of caramel malts, ripe fruits, hay, yeast and mild alcohol burn at the end. A bit too boozy to be enjoyable.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. Poured from a bottle into oversized wine glass at Monk’s Pub in downtown Chicago. Has a hazy, buckwheat honey color with brown hues. No head, but great lacing left on the glass- tan/white in color. Texture is extremely impressive, very thick without being haughty. Tastes like heaven, or hella caramel, whatever you want to call it. Amber malt, bittersweet finish and dry personality. Great.

When this first came to my lips I honestly wanted to rate it a one, the main flavour is alcohol by far, hardly anything else stands out. But as usual with these high alcohol beers it grows on you, it’s not that harsh and blends alright with the caramel backing at the end, but still I feel like if I entered this into a homebrew competition it would justifiably be called "off". This is not how I like my beers.

330ml bottle, pours clear golden brown with a small short head, in the nose, caramel, alcohol, yeast, fruits. Alcohol quite dominant but not unpleasant, taste is sweet, carbonation is low. Overall a bit too sweet and alcoholic for me

February 23, 2013 - bottle from Blue Max. Muddy brown with slight head that turned soapy looking and floating sediment. Aroma was sweet, caramel and dark fruit. Taste was sweet caramel, little bit of dark fruit and a dry alcohol finish. Palate was a bit thin and smooth.

330ml bottle poured into tulip. Pours a nice copper amber with a finger-thick head which fades to a coarse ring. Aroma is yeasty and fruity (think apples and maybe pears, as some others mentioned), boozy to some extent and I also pickup the caramel malt in there. Taste is rather on the medium-heavy sweet side. Mouthfeel is a bit peculiar, with a sticky texture (first time I have ever witnessed that). Body is pretty full, carbonation average to lively (actually pretty lively with a brew being 11.8 abv). Finish is medium in lenght and just slightly bitter at the end. Overall, pretty interesting! I would drink it once in a while if I can find it. Not a favorite, and I don’t think I would drink this on a hot summer day nor night...it gets to your head pretty quickly! And uhm...it did help me digest my McDonalds meal to some extent...hahaha.

On tap to a Scaldis goblet at Max & Joes Belgian Bar in Omaha. Tried during Beer Week so will have to revisit to enter some detailed notes. Enjoyed it though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: FEB 18, 2013 Pours a murky orange/red with very little head and lacing due to the high ABV. Aromas of light fruit like peaches and apricots with sweet malt and alcohol apparent. Sweet taste of fruits mentioned in aroma with clove and some spiciness and warmth from alcohol. Full semi sticky mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. A bit too sweet and boozy to be great but still good nonetheless. On tap at Max and Joes Belgian Bar in Omaha. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
