It was created in 1933 by Alfred Dubuisson, grand-father of the present family brewer, Hugues. Its former name was "Bush Beer 24°" (the density in Ballings), but today it is known as Bush Amber. Its amber colour is due to the use of caramel malt in the production process. Its bitter sweet taste provides it with firmness and personality. What's more, it helps digestion.

Pours a clear amber with a rocky white head. It has the aroma of caramel, sugar, fruits and vanilla. The taste is medium sweet with fruity tones and a full body. In the finish it is light bitter; the alcohol kicks in quickly and strongly. Very nice, especially in wintertime.

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2015 Smells winey with some caramelized fruit. Pours amber with small head. Flavour is sweet, texture is full, slightly bitter in the aftertaste, fruity, some alcohol. Not bad.

Bottle. I find this beer lacks complexity and overall character for being a 12% ABV biggie. There is some caramel and a slightly nutty maltiness, but that is about all. Then there is the alcohol punch, which comes mostly in the finish. Slightly solventy and unpleasantly burning. Overall the beer is not bad. But there is a lot wasted potential IMO.

Bottle from local Yamaya store. Sweet candi sugar-like nose, fruity, with powerful caramel, vanilla, some fumes, generous spice, and yeast. Clear amber/orange color, thin fine head. Big malty initial, some alc. burn, spicy and rich, with apples and pears. Medium-heavy body, rich on the tongue, rather warming. Hides the high alcohol more or less. Rich and complex, yet somehow not as interesting as it could be. Fruity jet fuel, really. Feel toasted after half a bottle.

0,33 bottle. Pours amber color with medium, mostly lasting white head. Aroma of yeast, candies, bubblegum, booze. Taste is medium sweet, light bitter, caramel and booze. Medium body, avereage carbonation. Finish is long and decent alcoholic. Not my favorite kind of beer.

I didn't take any extra notes when I tried this beer for the first time but I'm gonna try it again and update my comments. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle - Clear amber colour, medium sized off-white head, good retention and lacing. Sweet malty and boozy aromas, some caramel, raisins, brandy, bubble gum. Taste is sweet, caramel, some nuts, orange, banana, dried fruits. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, oily texture, sweet boozy finish. A classic belgian strong ale, nice but not awesome.

Pours an average size foamy bubbly off-white head but dissipates to a thin coating. Has a clear golden amber appearance. Fairly excessive carbonation. Aromas of light toasty and caramel malts. Flavours of barley malts, toasted malts, caramel. Has a bit of a sweet/bitter finish. Astringent mouthfeel. The alcohol is somewhat noticeable but much more once it warms up.

Boozy aroma of sweet malts, bubblegum, banana, hay, bread earth. Taste has much of the same character. Overall quite sweet and boozy, but with enough bitterness from being too sweet for the style. The high alcohol content is certainly noticeable but not unpleasant. I am happy with it mostly because it is a style not frequently available in the local LCBO.
