It was created in 1933 by Alfred Dubuisson, grand-father of the present family brewer, Hugues. Its former name was "Bush Beer 24°" (the density in Ballings), but today it is known as Bush Amber. Its amber colour is due to the use of caramel malt in the production process. Its bitter sweet taste provides it with firmness and personality. What's more, it helps digestion.

Birra ambrata con schiuma normale. In bocca ed al naso netti sentori di caramello e miele. Luppolatura pressoché assente. L’alcolicità di questa birra è la nota preponderante e risulta decisamente stucchevole alla lunga. Esagerata.

Clear amber color, average sized off white head. Full body, soft carbonation. Rich, creamy texture. Aroma is malts, yeast, spices, caramel. Medium sweet taste. Finish is long and it leaves sticky feeling. I’m very much impressed with this one.

@ John’s Grocery / Iowa City IA --- Cloudy amber brown with lots of fine sediment, head that quickly reduces to the rim, no lace. Taste is strong caramel malt with mown hay and light spices. Alcohol is obvious in the swallow, along with light bitters to balance. A big brew, but not very satisfying for me.

Bottle shared with the wife at home. Pours a hazy golden amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have big sweet malts, caramel, brown sugar, fruity esters, citrus notes, spices, some bitterness to the finish helps to balance, boozy.

Lyst Hvidt skum, farven er flot rød rav med meget gærrest. Smagen er sød med en del gær. Man mærker ikke de 12% der er i den. Dejlig øl til en sommeraften hvor varmetørsten har lagt sig.

330ml bottle bought at Craftissimo in Tsim Sha Tsui East.

Appearance: Clear amber colour with no yeast sediments; Half finger head with off-white foam which last for 30 seconds; Nice sticky lacing and fizzy small carbonation.

Aroma: Fragrant and very sweet full malt, with strong caramel, toffee, alcohol, raisins, light plums, figs, sugar, yeast and very light grass.

Taste: Strong sweet full malt, with strong and sticky caramel, potent warm alcohol, very light brandy, nice sugar syrup, thick molasses, light spices, yeast, light bitter lime, bitter hops and light grass.

Body: Full body. Creamy and oily palate.

Mouth feel: Very rich and mouthful of maltyness, backed up with thick and creamy body. Lots of caramel and not much fruityness, but more than compensated with just right sweetness befit to a 12% brew - not the cheap ones like the sugar-jacked Euro SPLs, but nice, sweet but not cloying brown-sugar or maple syrups. It gives you all the indications not to quaff but to sip it bit by bit to enjoy it. Nice!

Booze: Strong but very warm and comfy, reminds me of Chimay Blue. Taste is not Cognac-crazy as Bush Noël, just light touch of Brandy. Okay.

Hoppiness: faint grass in nose, light bitter lime and grassy hops.and taste. Bitterness is light and noatable to compliment the sweetness. Long lasting sweet and low astringent finish.

After Taste: Wet and oily. Sweet and creamy to mouth.

Comments: Like Bush Noël, this is a big-hearted sipper meant to be appreciated slowly, but the similarity ends here: this one features rich full malt, lots of caramel characters, excellent sweetness, and comfy light-tasted booze. While Bush Noël’s sensory attack may come thick and fast, this one let you appreciate the simple 12% greatness at your own pace. Very well-made and neat in its own way; Recommended? Of course!
