It was created in 1933 by Alfred Dubuisson, grand-father of the present family brewer, Hugues. Its former name was "Bush Beer 24°" (the density in Ballings), but today it is known as Bush Amber. Its amber colour is due to the use of caramel malt in the production process. Its bitter sweet taste provides it with firmness and personality. What's more, it helps digestion.

Pale amber pour. The nose is softly spicy. There’s a little bit of vanilla and a touch of fruit and spice. Very peppery and a little bit fruity. Some light higher alcohols. Quite dry and a little bit zippy. Has a touch of acidity and some soft pepper. The alcohol is apparent and there is a little bit of heat but it’s a solid strong ale.

Smager helt klart hen ad barley wine, men med en 12% er det vel forståeligt, er lidt spritet i eftersmagen, som dog kun er mest i eftersmagen, lidt synd for den er ellers virkelig god.

I honestly didn’t think this was very good for a Belgian Strong Ale. The nose is heavy alcohol and caramel malt. Flavors are straightforward sweet and alcoholic. Pours a nice deep amber color with little head/lacing. Body was a little cloying. Normally for a big ABV like this beer has, I would expect deep complexity of flavor but that was not the case for this one. It could probably be put down for a few years in order to age and mellow down for the flavors to develop a bit more.

Colore ambrato con poca schiuma. Aroma di malto, alcol e spezie. Al palato dolce con una presenza dell?alcol molto decisa. Corpo deciso, consistenza oleosa. Non male.

Very thick strong sweet ale. Thick taste of caramel, toffee. Too sweet and not in balance with the rest of the beer.

Aroma: caramel, ripe, red fruits, light alcohol. Appearance: almost clear, dark gold, hardly any head. Taste: medium sweet. Palate: very sweet, caramel, molasses, alcohol, some spices. Overall: OK Belgian Strong Ale, should be more complex to justify the high ABV. Bottle at The Dove, South Hackney.

Wow! What a pleasant surprise. This beer is sweet, lot of caramel, lot of spice, dry fruits. Very well balanced, ideal dessert beer. One of the few sweet beers i like.

0,33lt bottle @ Valentin - Curious Bierkneipe, Volos, GREECE Aroma comes very sweet, caramel maybe some fruits, too. Appearance is lively, filtrated clear with a deep orange color and a nice white but not long lasting foam. The taste is also sweet and spicy, you get also the high carbonation and alcohol. A bit oily, medium to full body and easy to drink for its ABV. Long aftertaste that is sweet and then gets to more spicy ending, but then the alcohol burn is not exactly pleasant. Nice beer and it claims to be thw strongest belgian beer.

Bottle from nightshop in Brussels. Clear light amber with off white head. Dried plums, peach, caramel, cheap rum, marzipan, orange peel, light grassy. Over medium sweet with alcoholic bitter finish. Medium bodied. Like a regular mediocre Belgian sting ale but more boozy
