3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: APR 20, 2013 Bottle. Amber colour, big stable head. Peppery aroma. Peppery, malty flavour. Sweet caramelly aftertaste, turning peppery and dry. Warming, almost burning from the alcohol. 6 3 7 3 17
Bottle, 12%, looks to be best before 2002, 11 years ago. Distinctly oxidised aroma. Copper colour, has some small bits of yeast in suspension. Very small white head. The flavour is sweet and spicy, lots of dried fruits. Rather boozy finish, burning alcohol, but goes well with the sweetness. I would have preferred it to be younger, but I am sure a few years in the cellar is better than drinking it fresh. 5 3 6 3 15

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUN 30, 2008 Bottle. A bit hazy, medium amber colour. Dense, big white, head. Malts and honey in aroma. The alcohol is present from the first sip, but stays in the background until the aftertaste comes. The flavor starts quite sweet, but turns floral and toffeish with a hint of banana. Long, dry finish. Because of the alcohols? This is definately not a session beer, but nice indeed (050827)

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Quite easy-going for its size. A muscular and complex strong ale. The name Scaldis is a load of crap, though. Just call it Bush like the rest of the world.
