COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It was created in 1933 by Alfred Dubuisson, grand-father of the present family brewer, Hugues. Its former name was "Bush Beer 24°" (the density in Ballings), but today it is known as Bush Amber. Its amber colour is due to the use of caramel malt in the production process. Its bitter sweet taste provides it with firmness and personality. What's more, it helps digestion.

One of the best beers in the world. A nice bite to it--overlying strong brandy and spice flavors. A true joy.

Very tasty and VERY strong Belgian ale. So strong it came in a smaller bottle. Nice amber color. But surprisingly it did not taste like alcohol. It was well balanced. Good all year round. Still trying to find it in AZ

Rich, alcohol tasting. Nice and harsh. Functions ideally as a beer to "switch it up" at the pub.

Pours a cloudy golden hue with almost no head. Has sweet malty aromas. Initial sweet attack which warms to a sweet and strong alcohol finish. Very sweet brew.

This beer just happens to be everything I love in a beer so It’ pretty easy for me to rank it high. It’s interesting to note that it’s called "Bush" in a lot of the world but in America it’s called "Scaldis." Okay, maybe it’s not that interesting.

THOUGHTS: Wow. Really worth the wait. A wonderful beer. Hid alcohol fairly well fro the high ABV. I just wish it came in a slightly larger bottle. With a bigger bottle you could just sit back and sip this all night long. I was really surprised it wasn’t bottle conditioned. It’s right up there with Samichlaus for big beer drinkability. It would probably interesting to age this one. It makes anything after it seem a bit bland. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a light to medium amber with nice carbonation and a small, off-white head that mostly diminished and left fair to good lacing. It also had tiny particles in the body of a thick density. The aroma was moderate to heavy caramel; very light hops; banana, grape, apple, pear, peach, pineapple, white wine, toffee, slight butterscotch, light alcohol, a little spice, and candied fruit. The initial flavor was rather sweet; while the finish was sweet, lightly acidic, and slight to lightly bitter. There was caramel, candied fruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apple, toffee, candied apple, caramel apple and barely any alcohol. The medium body was a little syrupy and then rather dry with fizzy carbonation and a dry and lightly alcoholic finish.

This beer is smooth and drinkable for the high octane. There is a fruity and spicy tone in the flavor.

Okay so the last time I had this was about two years ago. But I distinctly remember having this following a Westmalle Triple which is one of my favorites. What stuck with me was the fact that it gave the Westmalle a definite run for it’s money. I hope I can locate one of these again.

A stong smooth amber with a slight apricot flavor. One of my favorites.

SHAZZAAMMMMM!!!!!! bOO- yAHHH.... LOADS of lace, very foamy luscious head, So fragrant and aromatic, citrusy, woodsy, Some pronounced floral note. Lots of hoppy, yeasty bitterness. Intriguingly matched with the malty, candy sugars. Much, much better on draft than bottle. Had this on draft at Bodega downtown La Crosse.
