COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It was created in 1933 by Alfred Dubuisson, grand-father of the present family brewer, Hugues. Its former name was "Bush Beer 24°" (the density in Ballings), but today it is known as Bush Amber. Its amber colour is due to the use of caramel malt in the production process. Its bitter sweet taste provides it with firmness and personality. What's more, it helps digestion.

250ml bottle pooured into a Trappist glass. Pours amber with a average size fizzy light brown head that diminishes rather quickly leaving no lacing. The body is clear with carbonation bubbles floating to the top. The aroma is strawy and grainy with a light yeastyness along with some alcohol. The flavor is first off caramel malts with a touch of toffee along with a moderate belgian yeastyness. There is a slight bitterness and alcohol finish in the end. The body is medium with a creamy texture and soft carbonation.

Rødbrun farge. Lukter malt og sødme. Og også alkohol. Smaker desverre for mye alkohol for meg. Søtlig og bitter avslutning.

Bottle. Pours ruby amber with small white head. Werid on the nose; smells bad like a farm. Taste is decent thought spices, slightly sweet and a bit of a bitter finish. Ok.

330ml bottle. Clear dark amber color. Medium size head, disappears within a minute. Pours out as fizzy as lemonade. Caramel, malty, grainy, sweet, bit dusty aroma. Caramel, malty, sweet in taste. Not typical Belgian. Nice malty aftertaste. Alcohol is hidden at first, but as it warms up (ohh really?), more of it comes up. Not disturbing thou. Nice one.

Orange amber pour, finger of white head, drops to a ring of white forth, some lacing. Sour taste that slapped me in the face after the last beer, but it smoothed out after awhile. Ended up being fairly sweet, caramel malt, lots of fruit, peach.

Bottle @ Fiere Margriet. Dark amber, creamy white foam. Aroma of caramel, peach and spices. Alcoholic finish. Light bitter, very sweet. Ok, but a bit too sweet.

Pours a clear copper topped by a timid fizzy tanned head quickly fading to nothing. Some very fine bubbles and no lacing. The nose is honey, bubblegum, band-aid and alcohol. The taste is bold sweet malts with honey and brown sugar with some banana or cantaloupe and booze. Almost whisky-like. Very dense mouthfeel from the alcohol which lingers a long while after the sip. Heavy but still drinkeable, you can let this one age in your cellar quite some due to its high ABV. Cheers!

ASPETTO: pelo di volpe, limpidissimo. Schiuma leggermente giallognola, abbastanza fine e persistente. AROMA: alcolico, abbastanza liquoroso, speziato.

330ml bottle, poured into La Chouffe tulip. A: First thing I noticed was the lack of sediment in the bottle, amber colour, initial one fat finger head morphed into lid of foam, clear, not much lacing on the glass. S: Banana, clove and phenol. T: The First sip triggered a coughing fit, seriously strong stuff, followed the nose with the clove, banana and phenol, pretty sweet, to say it had a boozy kick to finish with would be an understatement, it burned like no other. M: So thick I could have eaten it, carbonation was non existent, smooth. O: Mellowed as it went on but not a subtle beer, I would describe this as Belgium’s equivalent of Special Brew, I think I’ll put the remaining 3 bottles away and hope that age calms them.

Finom sör, kicsit édeskés. Ez - számomra - szokatlan és meglepő volt. Színe szép, homogén. Illata idézi az igazi belga kocsmák hangulatát.
