3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Vibrant rusyt orange in colour; no head. Powerful liquered nose, sweet malts, slight stewed / ’thick’ aromas. More thickness in the palate, heavy malt sweetness, some heat, but shows good structure with fizz pitched at the right levels to prevent cloying.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at In de Wildeman. This dark amber ale poured with a lacy off-white head, eliciting a malty aroma. The flavor is initially sweet with a sharp bitter alcohol finish.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle This beer does not have any remarkable feature, however, the overall result is great!! :D. Its aroma is sweet with a strong green apples’ presence, though the smell reminded me sometimes of eggs. The flavor is bitter with a firm alcoholic taste.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled (BB 12/2006)
Golden color, small white head. Fruity, malty nose with dry cardboard aroma. Very "European strong lager" -like nose. Medium-bodied, crisp mouthfeel. Fruity flavor of apples, quite hoppy (some grassyness). Alcohol walks in in the finish. Interesting brew and not very typical Belgium.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear yellow coloured brew. Very sweet and malty aroma. Flavor is nice too, pretty light for the alchohol %. Sweet and distinct flavors. Overall a surprisingly nice brew.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: NOV 17, 2006 Pours a hazy and sparkling amber beer with a medium sized, white, bubbly and medium retentive head.
Aroma is malty and hoppy, weird for Belgian beers with a citrusy note of lime, apples and pleasant herbal touches with some alcohol hidden.
Flavor is very strong with a bold citrusy character. It starts agressive and potent with apples, sugar and alcohol dominating. The finish is astringent and refreshing but also powerfully alcoholic.
Good mouthfeel, champagne-like consistence and beautiful finish.
Just one step under the best Belgian Strong Pale Ales like Duvel..

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Beers of Europe. 250ml. Spritzy, pours blonde with a large white head. At first this is sparkling clear but at the end there is a touch of sediment, either yeast or protein chunks (is this even supposed to be bottle conditioned?). Aroma is dominated by spirity alcohol and a touch of nail polish. To taste this is less like the well balanced rounded golden Belgians (example Duvel), and more like the glorified Malt Liqours popular amongst the homeless of Belgium (example Gordons Gold). It’s very sweet and a touch syrupy with loads of alcohol and has a certain cheap feeling to it. Despite all that I find this quite palatable but it’s definately not a great product.
