Created in June 1998, Bush Blond is obviously a discovery in the strong blond ales market in which it will undoubtedly play a major role. It has a light and glistering colour. Hugues Dubuisson who is the current brewer wanted it to be worthy of the famous Bush Amber and gave it the same nice aroma and flavour.

Pouring a slightly hazy straw color with a medium-sized white head, this initially hit me with a syrupy sweet, fruity malt aroma. Then I got wholloped by a hit of anise, yeast, fruit cake, and alcohol. Nice. Light in the mouth, thereís an underlying caramel/toffee malt taste, but itís soon joined by tangerine, licorice, alcohol, juicy fruits, and an interesting mixture of spices. What causes all of that - donít know, donít care. I like it.

Bottle. Golden beer with a steady strong frothy head. The aroma is very fruity, dry and chewing gum and the flavour is very refreshing which is not normally typical of a beer so strong, and spiced sweet fruits. Overall a wonderful beer.

NOt really that exciting, but anyway. ORange like fine tree, and really good foam, a little alcoholic, but very tasty.

(Bottled) Slightly hazy golden with a smallish head. Very perfumy, rosemary-lavender aroma with berry and alcohol hints. Perfumy, thick-malty, syrupy-sugary flavor with honey and flowers. Quite full-bodied, syrupy-sweetish palate with soft carbonation and slight alcohol burn. Very nice and drinkable - yet malty and not cloying - for a 10.5% blond beer, but the perfumy toilet-freshener-feel is maybe a bit overwhelming. In either way, the Dubuissons sure know how to brew easily approachable strong beers.

Loaded yellow color, discreetly bubbly and diamond. Light and compact foam, short duration. Rich and complex scent. Much aromatized and flowery. Powerful and decided taste, clear notes of caramel, honey, sugar and daisies. Sweetish, alcoholic and of long duration final.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Blond Yellow with creamy head. Aroma of peach, pineapple, pepper, alcohol quite well hidden. Easy drinking for the abv. Medium bodied with a good spicy hop finish. Excellent stuff.

UPDATED: MAY 31, 2006 Mine poured cloudy orange brown with lots of floaties and frothy head that laced well. The floaties could be because the beer is a bit past itís use by date, quite like a couple of De Koninckís I had a little while ago. The aroma is decidedly fruity: creamy peach and raisins, but also some raw alcohol. The flavour has a good balance, with the leading sweetness finished with some light bitterness. Itís got a medium to full bodied palate, with the alcohol a bit too dominant. Some nice toffee sweetness rounds it off Overall it doesnít seem as well balanced as the amber, but itís still pretty good drop.

Average whita and diminishing head, gold-yellow clear body. heavy sweet alcoholic aroma with hops, some herbs. Smouth palate, lively carbonation, good mouthfeel. an alcoholic finish, little bit sweet, and a touch off sourness, which gives it a special touch. Lovely beer

Bottle. Pale clear golden colour with a slim white head. Sweet, peachy aroma. Nice taste; sweet, fruity with some light bitterness in the finish. Full bodied, alcohol well hid, but noticable in a warming way, really late on. I found this a much better crafted beer than the ambree. Very good.

Bottled. An anaemic blonde coloured beer with no head. The aroma is very sweet and syrupy and the taste is also very sweet and a bit cloying. Reminiscent of a honey beer. No comparison to its stronger stable mate. A real disappointment.
