3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 JorisPPattyn (7306) - Antwerpen, - MAR 20, 2003UPDATED: AUG 31, 2008 Yeast (flocculating) all in suspension, giving this golden beer a dirty-green taint. Thick white head, quite stable, certainly for its ABV. Nose gives alcohol, chalk, cummin. After some time biscuitaroma, something like apero-cheese biscuits. Taste is alcohol again, with a spicey bitterness. Citrussy notes. Retronasal caramel-toffee flavour. Mouthfeel alcoholburn; well-bodied, a bit oily/fatty even. Aftertaste is a kind of synthesis of all the former. I’ve had this beer better before - in fact it is my personal favourite amongst the Dubuisson range. I fear present bottle (however new) has been poorly kept. Still a very nice beer

Sweet aroma, honey, vanilla, hay.
Blond, head fades slowly away. Fun glass that appears to be broken.
Taste was too sweet, honey, surely some fruits as well.
The sweetness stays in the finish.

330ml bottle. Clear golden colour with some chunks floating around, small, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Minimally grainy, pale malty aroma, cautious unspecific fruity backgound. Taste is moderately sweet grainy, sticky, slightly alcoholic. Little convincing.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 thanatosti (586) - NETHERLANDS - JAN 29, 2013
33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Hogerdijk, Culemborg. Hazy golden with a big white head. Very fruity aroma, with hints of vanilla and spices. Yeasty taste with some very present alcohol. Medium bitter aftertaste and lively carbonation. Too overpowered blonde in terms of alcohol content. Maybe if the ABV was lowered to 8% the result wouldn’t be so harsh and boozy

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 77ships (2156) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - DEC 22, 2012
33 cl. bottle @ De Groote Witte Arend. Served at a somewhat warmer temperature in a rather interesting Bush glass. Shape is very beautiful the glass itself has the appearance of broken glass, bit like those bathroom window through which you cannot see. It is not really my thing but it is quite lovely & nice to see – great stuff. So far the BA offerings & winter beers of this brewery have been quite nice & interesting whilst the others have been not particularly my thing & seemingly more intend on being boozy rather than much else. The fact that at least one of their beers has erroneously proclaimed by themselves as the strongest beer in the world & is actively marked as such only reinforces this notion although their work is not per se as much bad as outside of my personal preferences. The beer pours a beautiful radiant, hazy golden like golden fields in the sun with a white head. This along with the presentation makes the beer quite appealing. Taste is that of sweet Belgian yeast, white bread & quite a bit of white sugar, hay and sweetness combined with cereal and some summer fruits it quickly runs over into a finish which is somewhat phenolic with clear alcohol. The alcohol presence appears to be intended & the beer displays it proudly the finish is also coupled with plenty of spices and some grass bitterness. I am also picking up some Belgian hops. Body is a tad fuller, lightly creamy with lower carbonation. The obvious nature & rather overly simple nature of this which merely appears to aim for sweetness & booziness make this somewhat less appealing. It is not entirely not enjoyable & I can certainly find quite a bit good & interesting things here. Overall it was a bit like what I would expect Bush to make in the not necessary most flattering way but I cannot say that I didn’t entirely not enjoy this beer.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 barakihunter (186) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - DEC 12, 2012
Aroma is slightly malty, a touch wheaty, not sure why - nothing bad in any case, just nothing good either. Appearance is blonde - yellow-golden colour - white head, nice and fine. Taste is slightly too bitter, not very interesting, slightly fruity - that’s about it. Palate is bitter, boring, but not horrendous, not great at the same time either though.
