COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a sweet beer with a pleasant flavour of hops. Indeed, for Bush de Noel, the brewer uses a traditional process which consists in placing hops flowers in the vats where the beer rests for four to six weeks by which time it will have reached full maturity, giving it a very distinctive taste. In the U.S the label generally reads Scaldis Noel.

UPDATED: MAR 7, 2013 Probably the best christmas beer I had. Dark amber colour and thick creamy head. Smells alcohol, but sweet. Taste is alcoholic, spicy and caramel. A lot of sweetness, but not annoying. Full-bodied, very good balance. Very good.

From the foil-wrapped 250 ml. bottle. This is a small bottle. The pour is a handsome looking darker reddish-amber with a modest head and great clarity. The aroma is full of caramel and toffee-like malts and very typical for a Belgian ale but I was hoping for a little more spice. The body is smooth and full. The taste is quite sweet up front with a roaring bitterness lining up at the end. Very nice Belgian Strong Ale but it did not remind me of a spicy Christmas ale.

Sweetened Belgian. Aroma of sweet malt, floral hops clove, some ginger and lots of booze. Thick consistency. A little head. Pours dark amber. Taste is sweet but theres some bitterness as well. Gets better after a few sips. Tap at Slows bbq.

On tap half pint at Gilly's Craft Beer & Wine in Rockville, MD. Clear, dark rusty brown with pale khaki head and good lacing. Aroma of dark fruit, caramel, sweet roasted malt, cherries, yeast, spice and light floral hops. Taste of cherries, raisins, caramel, yeast, spice and light floral hops. Medium body and medium/low carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle @ home. Aroma is alcoholic caramel malt, aka rocket fuel. Flavour is strong alcoholic rocketfuel, big malt and caramel. Like all others, too strong and alcoholic too little flavour.

Bottle at home. Clear golden pour, thin white head. Aroma of alcohol, sugary malts, slightly chemical and grainy. Flavor is overly sweet and with loads of alcohol. Malt liquor style.

Draft at Capone’s. Brown amber pour with no head. Aroma is a real nice caramel melding with a mild spiciness. Taste is really smooth and slightly nutty. Some malty breadiness gives it a substantial mouthfeel. Hides the alcohol really well.
