4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
One of my favorite Christmas beers when I can get it. Orange copper colored. Brown sugar and spices in the nose. Christmas dark fruits - dates, raisins. Taste has lots of spices, dark fruit, port wine, bread, yeast. Nice and complex mouthfeel, fairly heavy.

Clear brown, small brown head. Strong tasting beer with quite some alcohol, port notes, overripe fruit and Christmas spices. Sweet. Good full body and nice carbo.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at Coffee District in Delray Beach. Snifter. Pours a cloudy orange-brown with thick two finger white head. Aroma of fruit, booze, metals, and bread. Taste is really lacking depth. You get very little fruit, light sugars, bread, light spice and caramel. Not well balanced. Boozy. Medium carbonation. Meh.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Tapwerks. Pours a clear deep reddish amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of bread with a bit of booze and underlying light spices. Flavor is similar with bread and booze throughout with growing spice through the beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a deep caramel color with a fizzy whitish head that dissipates quickly. Caramel aroma with notes of dark fruit, clove and a bit of alcohol. Subtly sweet malty flavor with more hop character than I was expecting and a warming alcohol finish.

Helder bruin bier. Sterk aroma van alcohol, gist. Moutig. Smaakt bitterzoet. Te alcoholisch, niet zo lekker.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
25 cl. bottle. Dark amber colour with a thin, lightly tanned head. Sweet aroma with rich caramel malts, candid sugar, dark, dried fruits, nuts, a hint of alcohol. Christmas spices. Taste is medium to heavy sweet. Full body with an oily feel and an average carbonation. Long lasting finish with the alcohol and sweetness balanced with herbal hops. Excellent, somewhat alcohol-heavy beer for the cold season.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20
The aroma is floral, sweet fruit, candi sugar, and caramel. Pours a clear Yule Tide crainberry with a thin, mostly diminishing, white head and no lacing. The taste is moderately sweet - not quite cloy. Dried dark fruit, caramel, hints of floral, bread, combined with a bit of alcohol warmth/spice in the finish. Medium body with soft carbonation. Smooth, almost surpy mouthfeel. Overall, this is a finely crafted pleasing sipper appropriate for a cold winter evening after a filling meal. Because of the sweetness and the ABV, however, a little goes a long way. The 330ml bottle could easily be shared.
