Commercial Description:
This is a sweet beer with a pleasant flavour of hops. Indeed, for Bush de Noel, the brewer uses a traditional process which consists in placing hops flowers in the vats where the beer rests for four to six weeks by which time it will have reached full maturity, giving it a very distinctive taste. In the U.S the label generally reads Scaldis Noel.

Bottled. A dark red beer, with a light head. Spicy malty and alcoholic aroma. The flavour is very sweet, warming and malty. Some fruity notes. Alcoholic finish. warming and surely not bad, but doesn’t excite me.

Bottle. Pours reddish brass color with beige head. The aroma is raisin with a hint of banana, some sweet malt, and a touch of corriander and zest. The flavor is spicy in a way that resembles corriander, with some toasty malt, and a zesty bite at first. It mellows to an ashy finish and an aftertaste with some warm alcohol.

Pours a caramel-red color, clear, with no particles. Medium tanned head. Aroma is slightly alcoholic, of berries, prunes, raisins, molasses and a bit flowery. Flavor has a liquor texture like rum, with hints of apples, cinammon and other "christmas" spicies. Dry, alcoholic finish. Smoothly carbonated.

Malty aroma with notes of dried fruit and wool. Little to no head on a brown body. Dried fruit flavor with a slight alcoholic tinge. Sharp bitter bite that mellows out on the finish.

Reddish orange with an off white head. Lots of wintery spice and fruit in the nose. Biscuit and raisin add into the flavor, and the fruitiness really comes out after fully warming. Good.

Bottle. Dark brown beer with a strong head. The aroma is raisin and mulled, and the flavour is raisin and winter fruits. Overall a nice beer.

2005 vintage. Pours from the bottle a slightly hazy amber-orange hue under a thick, dense beige head. Superb foam retention and thick walls of lacing coat almost the entire chalice as it drains. Aroma was pleasant, but somewhat underwhelming for a big holiday Belgian like this. Nice notes of ripe light fruits, cookie dough, biscuits, raisins and brown sugar are expereinced, but they seem quite reserved for one and the alcohol really shows way too much punch in the nose. Mouthfeel is very nice; crisply and lively carbonated with a slightly firm, thick finish. Flavor profile turns out to be a bit more pleasing than the aroma, but still a bit tame for a beer of this magnitude and style. Flavors of toffee, light caramel candies, licorice, brown sugar and vanilla wafers with a slight hint of banana are enjoyed. However, again the alcohol seems to play too much of a dominant role here as in the nose. Finish is sweet with just a touch of an earthy/herbal hop presence. Definitely worth a try, but I guess my expectations were a bit higher on this one.

Pours deep raisin colour with a coco head. Lots of licorice, malts, and brown sugah. some earth tones ride across here and there between the breath of dark fruits. very fullfilling.
