This is a sweet beer with a pleasant flavour of hops. Indeed, for Bush de Noel, the brewer uses a traditional process which consists in placing hops flowers in the vats where the beer rests for four to six weeks by which time it will have reached full maturity, giving it a very distinctive taste. In the U.S the label generally reads Scaldis Noel.

On tap at The Coffee District. Pours a cloudy orange with a white head and spicy aroma. Taste is full of spices, yeast, and light floral notes into the spicy, Belgian yeasty finish.

Pours clear amber with a finger of rocky head. Nose is fruity, cherry, marzipan, candy sugar. Taste is pretty unpleasant, like cherry cough syrup, very sweet, thick mouthfeel. Not my cup of tea.

11.2 oz bottle poured into chalice. Aroma is a little hoppy, slight fruits and some alcohol. No head to it at all, pours a deep Amber. Flavor is very hoppy with s creeping heat from the alcohol. Very potent, not my favorite Belgian Xmas.

I found the color a little curious. I expected a much darker beer and when it poured a burnt orangish color, I was wishing it was either a little darker or a little lighter. It did pour a nice thick head though. had held up and laced nicely. The aroma is very much a strong Belgian ale with hints of bread, must, cheese, raisins. Now that I think of it sort of like a fruitcake, but maybe itís the seasonal label influencing me. First sip a full mouth-feel and a noticeable alcohol tingle. Very sweet followed by a little bitterness. Nice alcohol burn and a little warmth in the cheeks. A very good Christmas beer. One to sip and enjoy on a cold night.
