Strong rich aroma consisting of dark fruits, raisins, and alcohol. Some apple aroma and a little tobacco. Very spicy dark fruit flavor with some alcohol burn. Strong malty finish. Alcohol isn’t as noticable in the finish. Enjoyable sipper. dwyerpg (2553), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Very rich in taste, there is sweet chocolate (lots), butterscotch and and a wall of hoppy bitterness in the background. Aroma is pretty much the same save the bitterness and add roasted malt. A very firey mouthfeel due to the alcohol is very present, but it never gets too heavy. Overall a great beer I would love to have again on some chilly winter’s night. flemmingwillum (249), København S, Denmark
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 30, 2006 Pretty powerful aroma of caramel and alcohol, but also incredibly much of figs and dates. The flavor is again very fruity with a lot of figs and dates, but the alcohol takes the control towards the aftertaste, which is alcoholic with a little bit of figs. Of course, this beer is very marked by the alcohol, but not as much as you would expect for a 12% beer. The same applies to the body of the beer, which is creamy and sturdy, of course, but also not as overwhelming as expected. fonefan (11999), VestJylland, Denmark

Aromas of nutmeg, candi sugar, and caramel. Flavors of caramel, nutmeg, nuts, cinnamon, and a touch of chocolate. Somewhat dry on the finish with fizzy carbonation throughout. Unique and pretty drinkable.. Numenor (869), Richmond, Virginia, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 27, 2006 Cloudy, dark ruby-copper-hued body...no real head to speak of here. The aroma is very sweet - with prunes, apples, dates, figs and molasses and honey too. It suggests a very sweet, complex beer. The flavor is very similar to that as well, except that its not that complex. Mostly sweet - I suppose to cover up the high alcohol content. Strong alcohol burn.
