4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazy copper color with a thick creamy golden head. Pleasant aromas of raisin, caramely malt, and nutty cheese. Sweet, bright caramel malts and fruit flavors with an aftertaste that suggests smoked gouda cheese. Very nice Christmas brew.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cloudy brown, thin but sturdy beige head. Smells like raisin bread toast. Tastes like rasin, dark bread, and a hint of red wine. As it warms, more complex flavors emerg, like cherry, maple, and maybe molassess. Persistant alcohol heat throughout. Very tasty.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
This dark reddish amber brew with a champagne head greeted the nose with a sweet and spicy aroma. Fruity with an alcohol punch that didn’t overpower the basic flavor. Sparkling and full bodied. Very much in the style of Christmas beers with it’s nod to mulled punches.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
8.48 fl oz (250 mL) brown bottle purchased from Di Carlo Wine and Spirits (formerly Armanetti’s), Mundelein, IL. Clear amber ale having a large off-white head with good lacing. Average carbonation. Nice spice and toffee aroma. Medium bodied that starts dry with light malt sweetness and spicy toffee notes. Finishes dry with light malt aftertaste. Definite alcoholic warmth. A good spicy malty winter brew to enjoy during the holidays. Enjoyed on 2005 Christmas day with visiting family members.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottled. Light reddish with a tan white head. The aroma is smoky / burnt and fruity at the same time. The flavour is smoky with a fruity scent. It also has a bitter after aste. There was one flavour in there that I tried to identifi, the closest I got was Swedish turnip. oh well...

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
75cL bottle from www.belgianshop.com. Pours hazy coppery bronze with a medium-tall lasting foamy off-white tanish head and loads of miniscule bubbles. Oak and cellared yeast aroma, caramel malt not too heavy, with a fruity nose (apple, pear); cookie-like. Honeyed caramel malt and sweet brown sugar flavor, yeast (sweet bread) and medium acidity that does not hang on the palate long; alcohol becomes more noticeable as the beer warms. Medium body, lightly fizzy and slightly dry, creamy overall mouthfeel.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured with a big head into my Piraat tulip. Taste was a little weird to me, with loads of burnt caramel and dry fruit that just didnt meld well together. The alcohol was also very apparent, moreso in any beer that I’ve had, which made for a less than pleasant drinking experience. And for $5/8 oz bottle, this just felt like a total rip.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This 25cl bottle has been in my fridge for about two years, and I’ve been looking for the right occasion to drink it. Well, I’m not waiting anymore, and besides, it’s New Year’s Eve day. It pours an attractive golden amber color and I kept most of the chunks in the bottle. It generated a thin light biege head that lasted as whisps. The nose is mostly of over-ripe bananas, apricots and sweet candi sugar. Lots of alcohol noticable in this beer. Dried fruit (raisin, apricot, apple), burnt sugar, and a little hair spray in the finish. This beer definitley improves as it warms, and must be sipped. Wow, what a big beer, but seems a little harsh.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This beer has robust aroma consisting of a montage of scents. The noise can detect the fragrances of sweet vinegar, apricot, green apple, and a hint of strawberry in the background of this beer. It is a healthy copper colored fluid with a thick off-white head. The tongue is greeted with a sweet infusion consisting of apple, yeast, and butter but those flavors subside to the taste of apricot that lingers upon the palate after swallowing.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled. Strong raisins and alcohol in aroma. Flavour is very nice, toffee, sweet malts, with weak hints of alcohol. Hides alcohol very well. Very complex. A bit too biting carboration for my taste.
