COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a sweet beer with a pleasant flavour of hops. Indeed, for Bush de Noel, the brewer uses a traditional process which consists in placing hops flowers in the vats where the beer rests for four to six weeks by which time it will have reached full maturity, giving it a very distinctive taste. In the U.S the label generally reads Scaldis Noel.

Initial strong alcohol flavor that overwhelms the palate. Milds as the bottle goes and becomes very pleasant. A surprising blend of sweetness and hops that have a definite holiday spice. I drank it paired with a spicy meal of jerk chicken and salse. The flavros blended perfecly, leaving a warm burn in my chest. A holiday delight.

Bottle, 33cL. Home. Several months ago. Rating forgotten in a notebook :) A sparkling brown orange beer with many beautiful hues ; medium white head with a poor retention. Fruity aroma (prune, pear?), caramel, spices. Medium sweet with a warming background. Full body, oily texture, average carbonation, warming background. Overall, powerful, fruity, sweet beer.

Format: Bottle from Whole Foods Market in Redwood City, CA
Appearance: Ruby reddish-brown
Aroma: Stewed cherries, cherry pie (buttery crust), bananas foster, bourbon
Taste: Spicy malts, cherry liqueur (slight chemical flavor)
Mouthfeel: Chalky, yeasty, malty
Overall: Thinking about all the cherry pies and banana bread puddings next winter.

33cl bottle. A lovely dark amber, even fruity red coloured beer, with a nice head. The appearance is very clear and shiny. The white or somehow beige foam makes way for the feable vivid liquid. The scents are subtle, too subtle, the taste fits the 12% alcohol promise - without relly being spiritlike. You can taste the malt, the sugar, the bitter throat. Well balanced, but never pronounced. A pitty, really. Thatís why the beer only has a medium body, good to enjoy. "The strongest Christmas Belgian beer", yet a longer ending would have made far more impression.

Jästig mörk torkad frukt & söt doft. Även karamell som finns i smaken. Belgo jäst smak. Kroppen medelfyllig. Stark alkoholsötma. Torkad frukt. Hade gärna fått varit fylligare. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Reviewed on 07/02/15. Bottle, 330ml. A maple beer with a medium to small head. Aroma is of dried fruits, spices, alcohol and caramel with a hint of bananas. Taste is bitter with an alcoholic finish. Robust and somewhat dense. Sweet aftertaste. Well brewed and very warming; a nice Christmas beer.

Bottle, 33cl. Clear dark orange with a frothy tan head. Very intense and layered aroma. Very fruity, with hints of caramel, toffee, licorice, vanilla. Robust with moderate carbonation. Intensely sweet and heavily bitter. Inmensely complex, with a strong malt backbone and tremendous alcohol and bitter finish. Not the most drinkable beer at 12% ABV, but perfect for after a heavy meal or on a rainy day. Exquisite.

Colour: ruby meets copper. Medium sized head. Nose: fruity sweetness, apple syrup, caramel, hints of orange peel, spices. Flavours: candy sugar, forest fruits, herbs and spices, apricots. Finish: long, fruity, mellow, warming. Flavours echo for a while. Verdict: Very fine Christmas ale, albeit a very strong one, which isnít really noticeable.

From the archives: several years ago. I did not payed much attention to it. Wife brought it from Brussels, and I did not sit down for this one. I remember it being good seasonal ale. Hard and heavy.
