Commercial Description:
This is a sweet beer with a pleasant flavour of hops. Indeed, for Bush de Noel, the brewer uses a traditional process which consists in placing hops flowers in the vats where the beer rests for four to six weeks by which time it will have reached full maturity, giving it a very distinctive taste. In the U.S the label generally reads Scaldis Noel.

For all the flavor here, the aroma is pretty mild - good, but mild - displaying caramel and hints of alcohol. Soft beer all around, carbonation gentle and alcohol warmth pronounced, but pleasant. deep golden in color, yeast sediment result of my sloppy pour. wonderful fluffy tan head with great retention. tastes of honey dominate, with hints of caramel to produce a wonderful taste overall. Surprising hop flavor - spicy like pepper, floral like rose petals - with a higher than expected hop bittering. Finishes sweet with a lingering moderate bitterness and a alcohol warmth. This beer begs to be aged for at least a year to allow the hops to subside and for the complexity to be fully appreciated. If Bigfoot were brewed in Belgium...

Draught. Darker red with a big bad head that lasts. Aroma is sweet malty, fruity and spicy yeasty. Flavor too sweet also with fruits (raspberry, strawberry, and peaches--maybe plum), spices, and caramel malt. A slower nice finish.

Pours clear orange with a small white head. The aroma is caramel malt and dark fruit. Possibly a little bit of rum. The flavor is tons of caramel, dark fruit (cherries) with a lot of alcohol at the end. Relatively sweet beer. Medium mouthfeel and carbonation. The alcohol is present making it a sipper, but it is still relatively easy to drink.

Not bad, but i was expecting something even better. Strong aroma and taste because of the alcohol. Fruits, caramel, sugar, yeast. Long lasting aftertaste, full body. Not so easy drinkable.

This pours a red amber color, fittingly, with a very small head (bottle) and a generous amount of sediment floating around. It has a potent aroma with almost a sweet vanilla essence. It tastes sweet on top of malts with perfect balance with a lack of any bitterness. I love this sweet ale - Merry Christmas to me!

As Scaldis Noel Premium. 13%. 25 and 2/5 ounce bottle. Pours a chunky brown-amber with a small tan head. Aroma is quite vinous, with spoiled dark fruit notes, and tons of brown and candy sugars. The aroma is hard not to like. Woo! First sip is fuckin’ intense man! Hella fuckin’ fruits, again tons of candy sugar, spoiled, self-fermented rotten fruits (see: pruno), somewhat cloying end. Still good flavor - there’s no lack of it - but you have to be accustomed to intense sweetness to enjoy it, which I am. That said, I think one glass will be enough for one sitting even for the most experienced enthusiasts of colossal sugar bombs; whereas normally I’d finish off the whole 750, the intensity is too great even for a maniac like myself. Perhaps I’ll step down to an Old Stock Ale or a glass of Ten Fidy after this; you know, to wind it down a notch in the sweetness department. Yes, really. Thicker density, good carbonation, sticky/syrupy finish (needless to say after what’s already been mentioned). I definitely dig it, despite its reckless lack of restraint. Scaldis does make one single declaration with this: "Noel Ale? MAN’S GAME, BITCHES" That should sum up this rating. Overall, excellent. Unrefined, but excellent.

Clear copper color with an off-white frothy head. Aroma of caramel, spice, and dark fruit-raisin mostly. Flavor of raisins, fruit, caramel, spice and alcohol. Superb lacing. Definitely a sipper and a winter beer. Excellent offering.

Poured a nice copper color with a thick merengue like head... this thing was bubbly the whole entire time... amazing for something this strong. Nice estery yeast aroma. Flavor had a bunch of spices and typical belgian flavors, but they weren’t overdone... just enough to give it some flavor, and to keeep it smooth. One of the better belgian strong ales i’ve had in a while
