This is a sweet beer with a pleasant flavour of hops. Indeed, for Bush de Noel, the brewer uses a traditional process which consists in placing hops flowers in the vats where the beer rests for four to six weeks by which time it will have reached full maturity, giving it a very distinctive taste. In the U.S the label generally reads Scaldis Noel.

12 ounce (or so) bottle thanks to Dallas. A deep brown color with a medium white head. A big fruity and sweet nose. Candies, some caramel, light spices, very nutty, very dry, massive dark fruit at times. Excellent. I could drink a ton.

Bottle from Geers. Dark red pour with thick off white head. Aroma of toasted malt, caramelized sugars, candied fruits, grassy hops, light alcohol. Taste is quite grassy, nice hop flavor, lots of toasted malt notes, tons of caramel with a warm alcohol finish. Palate is rich and full bodied, a solid winter sipper.

Brown color, small tan head, fast disappearing. Brown sugar aroma. Long sweet finish. Full body, creamy and sticky. Soft carbonation. Alcohol level is high, but well hidden. Not bad, but not my cup of tea. (Svijet piva 0,33l bottle)

Cloudy brown color, thin off white head. Full body, creamy, thick texture, soft to average carbonation. Aroma is malts, dark fruits, caramel, marzipan, cinnamon, sugar, rum, hint of vanilla. Taste is sweet, but far from unpleasant high sweetness. Pleasant hoppy aftertaste came as a nice surprise. Alcohol is not noticeable, but it leaves very nice warm feeling. Very complex beer. Christmas in a beer bottle.

I had imagined a rich taste like abt from the height of the alcohol, but it ended in Katasukashi. Taste stronger acidity of alcohol along with the feeling come on and a mouth. Its high alcohol but drink clue. But my feeling was something unsatisfactory.

Bottle. Pours ruby brown with khaki head. Aroma is quite nuanced - dough, strawberries, estery notes somewhere between bubblegum and bananas, just the slightest trace of floral hop resin. Flavor is robust and pungent - an implosion of alcohol, woodiness, vanilla, caramelized grain sugars, sticky residual sugars and a finish that is bitter with both alcohol bite and a modicum of hop flavor. This is a big winter beer for a Belgian brewery, even well-suited to colder climes - I love it and drinking it will be a new tradition for me in the frozen time of the year.
