First bottle that Dirk served at the Kulminator, September 2008. Another in the recent trend of champagne beers, a notch above Deus, cloudy amber, acidic and oaky. Tastes of alcohol. Nutty, dry finish. Should age nicely.

Bouteille: Amber coloured, some floaties visible, stable and lacy off-white head, very complex nose: wood, bretttg, toasted malt with fruity-vinous traces;solid sweet-bitter flavour and full bdied; lingering dry bretty-woody finish, sweet fruits again detectable. What a fine stuff…
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 MoritzF (7835) - Bochum, GERMANY - JAN 31, 2013
(bottle, 75cl) Hazy, amber colour with a short and tanned foamy layer. Moderately sweet and slightly sour dark malty aroma with vinous, almost Tawney-like fruity and woody notes, accompanied by caramel, hints of cellar and shades of alcohol. Moderately sweet and delicately sour-tart flavour, full bodied with a smoothly carbonated mouthfeel. Mildly toasted malty taste with loads of vinous berry fruits on a woody background; sweet and delicately bitter finish with vinous, slightly acidic fruity flavours, vanilla and a well-integrated alcoholic strength. A very pleasant barrel-aged strong Ale. 26.XII.12
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 hopdog (7732) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 24, 2009
750ml, expensive as_, bottle. Poured a medium to deeper and cloudy amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of wood, grapes, cherries, oak, vinous, and slightly funky. My 6.5 year old wanted to smell it and without prompting told me it smelled like grapes. Tastes of cherries, oaky/woodiness, vanilla, caramel, and some fruitiness. Alcohol content well hidden with a nice smooth and easy to drink body.
4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 rlgk (7538) - Skövde, SWEDEN - AUG 4, 2012
75 cl bottle, thanks to sebletitje. Somewhat hazy copper/amber beer with an offwhite head. Sourish vinous aroma, fruity, quite evident oak, leather aroma, dry woody, some red wine, berries, apples, grapes, figs, some almond, biscuits, notes of vinegar, sweetish, cork, red berries, acidic, hazelnuts and some brown sugar. Oaky flavor, vinous, some alcohol, vinegar, berries, hay notes, almond, red wine, vanilla notes. Great beer, just a little too much alcohol showing to take it all the way to the top. Woody finish, leather, berries and alcohol.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 BMan1113VR (7420) - Los Angeles, California, USA - MAR 20, 2009
Big thanks to bu11zeye for this. Cuvee Speciale 2008. I thought it was Prestige at first (that’s a bit what the bottle looks like). Best Before 2011. Pours with a hazed brown body and a light brown head. Aroma has some sourness, very dry with champagne, brett, read wine and CO2. Taste is slightly sour with a bit of alcohol, tons of dryness and earthiness. A bit of red wine rounds out the flavor. Dry with light alcohol presence. Very solid!
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 JorisPPattyn (7363) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - SEP 16, 2008
Deep orange-brown beer, smal brown-yellow head. Very woody/acetic nose, extremely vinous, raisins in balsamicovinegar. Sweeter, less acetic taste (unless in the finish, where alcohol- and acidburn walk together), raisins in balsamico. Chocolate int he aftertaste, as well as very soft mintlike flavour. Enormous alcoholwarming, very smooth alcoholy. Still 14% seems very heavy because of the acids. Terribly promising, vinous , this is going to be unbeatable in 1.5/2 years. Thanks, Dirk, for the first bottle in Flanders!

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2009 Bottle from the Otown throwdown. miketd rocks and rolls. Hell yeah this is good shit. Amber/toffee color pour wtih a small light head. Aroma is yeasty, malty, fruity, vanilla, wood, and some light funky notes. Flavor is great. Sweet and tart mix wonderfully here. The red wine notes are in harmony with the sweet fruits, caramel and malt. Nice, damn damn nice!
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 leaparsons (7129) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JAN 23, 2010
Bottle. Dark brown and red with a small head. Aromas are toffee and spices with oranges. Floral with fruity sweets. Peppery alcohol. Flavours are sweet spiced oranges with burnt toffee malts. Vinous red wine character. Strong but not aggressive alcohol. A bit unbalanced but still good
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 MesandSim (7118) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 30, 2009
A Mes rate: bottle at The Cadster’s Spotify tasting. Typical Bush Noel looks. I’m strugglinig to distinguish this from the Prestige but that’s really not a bad thing now is it? Big, bad and very mad. Tart and fruity, massive complex malt, loads of chewy barrel and a big sting of alcohol offset with the sourness instigated by the Burgundy againg. Fanfunkingtastic stuff.
