COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like the Brasserie Dubuissonís renowned Scaldis Prestige, Scaldis Prestige de Nuits is aged in oak barrels for six months. But Prestige de Nuits is made of Scaldis Noel aged in Bourgogne barrels from the world famous "Nuits St. Georges" vineyard. The result is an ale of extraordinary complexity and depth.

Bush de NoŽl, ripened for 7 months on wine casks from Burgundy (Nuits-St.-Georges).

courtesy of Pascal Sauser - cloudy brown colour, little beige foam; very straight notes of wood; vinous and with a touch of vinegar; some astringence, sweet and full-bodied; acidic and quite aggressive; sweetish woody and malty caramleish aftertaste - deeply lacking of subtlety and without complicity between the beer and the cask; definitely needs some ageing

Bottle from BVS, Brussels. It pours cloudy dark orange-amber with suspended particles and a fizzy off-white head. The nose is caramel, vinous, jam, grape skin, raspberry yoghurt, gingerbread, wood, prune and date. The taste is caramel, wood, leather, vinous, tart red grape, cherry, plum skin, sherbet, orange peel, spice, hint of vanilla, earth and some alcohol warmth. Medium body and effervescent carbonation. An elegent brew... good depth of flavour, tartness and balance.

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2009 Bottle from the Otown throwdown. miketd rocks and rolls. Hell yeah this is good shit. Amber/toffee color pour wtih a small light head. Aroma is yeasty, malty, fruity, vanilla, wood, and some light funky notes. Flavor is great. Sweet and tart mix wonderfully here. The red wine notes are in harmony with the sweet fruits, caramel and malt. Nice, damn damn nice!

750ml, expensive as_, bottle. Poured a medium to deeper and cloudy amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of wood, grapes, cherries, oak, vinous, and slightly funky. My 6.5 year old wanted to smell it and without prompting told me it smelled like grapes. Tastes of cherries, oaky/woodiness, vanilla, caramel, and some fruitiness. Alcohol content well hidden with a nice smooth and easy to drink body.

Finished a bomber of this fine unique beverage, in the very glass it was designed for. Thanks for sendng both BelgBeerGeek. Pours a blackish cognac coloured body with an initially notion only of a head. The aroma is rich wine (it was aged in such for 6 months), and the taste is secondary to this Belgian ale, with some chocolate. Special though not extraordinary special.Above average mouthfeel.

UPDATED: FEB 11, 2010 Re-rate 10/20/09: Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks Shachar. Hazy reddish-amber color. Sweet fruity aroma with spices, lots of oak, caramel, some oaky acidity, candi sugar and vinous notes. Sweetish flavor with fruits, light woody sourness, cookie hints, some spiciness and some sugar. Medium to full-bodied with lively carbonation. A good one. 8/3/7/4/15=3.7

[9/6/09] Bottle sample during a festival at De Heeren van Liedekercke in Denderleeuw. Cloudy amber with lots of floaties. Aroma of lots of fruits, caramel, some cookies, yeast and some spicy hops. 750ml bottle shared with the Oslo guys at Bier Central. Dark amber body topped by a filmy layer. Rich aroma with tart fruits, raisin and dusty hops. Delicious taste of dried fruits, apples and spiced malts on an oaky backbone. Very dry ending. Solid, but integrated, alcohol warmth. A pleasure to drink a beer like this (Antwerpen, 29.04.2011).

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2009 Bottle... C&PísLYFO Throwdown... Cloudy, caramel-colored ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Fantastic retention. The aroma is a bit muted, but Iím able to pull pleasant, toasted notes of caramel, wood and red wine out of the glass. Full-bodied with lively carbonation. Sweet, boozy, caramel flavor with sufficient bitterness to prevent it from being cloying. Additional, vinous notations of red wine and medium sherry. The lengthy, lightly bitter, mildly boozy finish dries out at the very end. Big thanks to miketd for bringing this beer to the Throwdown! Video = http://homepage.mac.com/maltajo/RATEBEER/iMovieThe

Pours clear deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, wood, dried fruits and alcohol. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long warm, fruity and vinous finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
