4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
I had two entirely different sets of reactions. When i had my first glass I thought of a slightly fizzy slightly sweet red wine spritzer and was not impressed. An hour later the same beer was delightful. Is it possible that a red wine barrel aged beer needs to breathe? Who knows. Here is my second set of impressions. Appearance is perfect. Indeed, the appearance of the bottle is so perfect that the appearance of the beer hardly matters, but that is perfect also, like a slightly hazy, reddish tripel, but with a very small tan head. Nose is complex but simple to describe, malts and Burgundy wine. Taste is complex and simple as well, Belgian tripel, without the floral, lavender, lilac notes of the basic Prestige, but with complexity from from the Burgundy again. I thought it was great, obviously, but I docked it a point for being over 10% alcohol and another point for its price. 13% ABV makes a beer scary dangerous, and $39.96 for a single bottle of beer, purchased at the case price, is just too high. And yet, Iím glad I have the rest of the case waiting for me!

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle 75cL. Home alone & the previous day with my dad. A sparkling clear brown beer with a big off-white creamy head ; good retention & lacing. Aroma of grape, prune, dark fruits, alcohol, roast, wood, biscuit. Medium to heavy sweet, warming note, light acid note ; elegant and balanced. Full body, medium silky texture, average to good carbonation, sweet warming finish. Overall, fabulous & delicate ; this beer doesnít stop time but surely slows it down...

Vintage 2011 Cuvee Speciale. Absolutly Perfect Vintage Beer. Whatís a smell, wine and wood. Oak Barrel from Burgund wine taste like perfect old dry wine. I love that stuff. Cudownie pachnace winem, kwaskiem oracz octem, niemal lambick czy Sour Ale. Piana bezowa spora sie tworzy przy takiej mocy zadziwia to, ale szybko opada, szkoda i wtedy przypomina szlachetne wino. Rubinowo miedziana barwa, metna i oleista. Niebywale geste, tresciwe, troche kandyzowanego cukru na ustach, silnie drapiace i szczypiace w podniebienie aromaty i moc tego piwa. Rozgrzewa i pozostawia efekt zadowolenia na dlugi czas. Perfekcyjna kompozycja, elegancja i zarazem dostojna butelka w najlepszym wydaniu. Doskonalle do starzenia, polecam szczegolnie na szczegolne okazje i toasty.

Quite intense sweetness balanced with perfect light acidic tartness. Very smooth all the way. Well balanced, complex and highly enjoyable brew. Love it!

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
75cl bottle. The bottle definitely looks bigger than the volume. A brew of three kinds of barleymalt, two aromatic hops - ripened for seen months on wine casks. This is the Bush de NoŽl, but with full body, a nose of wood, rich of flavours, lovely sweetened.

0,75 bottle shared with markoijelena during a fantastic evening at Kulminator pub in Antwerp-Belgium. Thank you mortlach for the tip and many thanks to Dirk and Leen for being so attentive to our demanding requests :-) Pours amber clear with a decent white head. Nose is spirit, malty vinous notes. Mouth: slightly tart feel, sour in a way, light feel of liquor with a background of sugar. Nice one!
