tarjei (1417), Bryne, Norway Jan 5, 2009 75 cl bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Hazy amber color, nice off-white head. Aroma is carmal malt sweetnes, spicy and some alcohol. Flavor is very sweet, with wood, spices and alcohol. Dry finish. Lovely. Fin (2568), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Jan 1, 2009 Bottle that I picked up at Dranken Geers March 08 and consumed 01-01-09. Got to be honest I was a little dissapointed by this it poured a hazy orange amber but was as flat as a witches tit, not a bubble or even sign of filmy head in sight. There was plenty of oaky vanilla flavours, bit sweet, rich and tangy, typically Belgian in many ways but to be honest Iost interest in it and wonder whether my bottle was lacking. The oak barrels complement this beer, the wood and vanilla adding a level of complexity and smoothness, as opposed to dominating the beer. Thick and very rich, yet the orange color and frothy head still impart a sense of lightness. nice yeast. linger like port. faroeviking (4711), The Autonomous Beer Republic,, Faroe Islands Nov 18, 2008 Botella shared at a family gathering. Hazy deep orange colour. Nice sweet fruity and yeasty alco aroma. Good filling mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet and fruity with alcohol, yeast, malt and mild wood. Fruity bitter finish. Hides the 13% alc. pretty well. kmweaver (2274), Nicaragua Nov 17, 2008 750mL bottle, courtesy of bitbucket. Thanks, Bob! Pours a dense, tarnished orange color; thin off-white head with medium-bubbled patchy lacing. Loads of dried oranges, peppery yeast, and honey in the aroma; complex, restrained sweetness, nicely yeasty. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy, dense yeastiness, peppery / white pepper, effervescent carbonation; very peppery and yeasty, Champagne-like beer; mouthwatering and musty. Lengthy finish: pepper, yeast, solid breadiness, and nicely dry and toasty throughout.
