UPDATED: NOV 14, 2005 Hazy straw yellow colour with a large white head. Pine hoppy aroma and a medium texture but little else with this beer. Re Rate 14/11/05 "Dark Roasted Wheat with arabica coffee like flavours" 3.4% Light tawny amber body, light tan head, chocolate malt aroma, mocha taste but a bit watery at the end.

Enjoyed the trip to Bush shack but this takeaway wasnt as good. It could have been the wrong label. Mine was not a dark wheat. Had no wheat beer character at all. Nutty Caramel, thin, even slightly soapy. Will have to try this again to give it a fair chance. Have a few more of their beers to sample yet. Beer wasnt infected but think in wrong bottle?

12 Jan 06 - The irst wheat beer I’ve had with a chocolate grain aroma. Cloudy medium brown-orange colour (What colour should a wheat beer be ?), with a good head and lacing. Grainy malt flavour. Thin and hoppy chocolate finish.

Okay, this rating is probably not reflective of the brewer’s intentions, as the product I tasted HAD to be off-- it was undrinkable! Fom the bottle it poured a dirty orange-brown (bad start for a wheat beer). Sour aroma, and VERY sour palate-- had to spit it out and dump the rest. Both bottles that I got from the brewery were like this. A disappointment.

Interesting beer. Dark copper colour with a big wheat beer head. Aroma of roasted malt jumps out of the bottle which is kinda weird. Milo and roast malt phenolics are the main aromas - they definitely aren’t using a German or Belgian wheat beer yeast here. Tastes very dry - malt sweetness is completely absent, but there’s a fair old hit of charcoal in the finish which reminds me a fair bit of Uerige, oddly enough. Not a whole lot of flavour but it couldn’t have been easier to drink - I nearly inhaled the entire glass in one go and I wasn’t all that thirsty. High carbonation but it kinda works. I think that either they’ve changed the recipe significantly or, like mutant suggests, this is a mislabelled bottle. I’m tipping the former, as it seemed like there was a bit of wheat malt flavour in there. Nice.

Bottled. Cloudy pale yellow. Loadsof lactic acid up front. Medium bodied with clean mouthfeel and notes of lemon and heavy citric acid sourness that completely dominates. The lactic/citric acid character is Berliner weisse style, but it’s less crisp and fresh than Berliner Weisses. Sure, it’s an interesting, and fairly refreshing beer but the sourness goes abit overboard and it gets very one-dimensional.

Dark reddish colour with a big, loose beige head. Slightly sweet aroma. Strong dark caramel taste which is a bit yeasty. It is a bit roasty and somewhat bitter. Quite a mess yet quite drinkable, if that makes any sense. On reflection, due to the appearance, maybe this is another beer in the wheat bottle. I don’t know.

Drainpour :( Suprisingly dark golden colour with slight hazy when cold. High carb supporting large white head. Strong smell of green apples in aroma, with a bit of pear behind it. Very thin watery mouthfeel. Urgh, bad green apple taste reminded me of oxidised homebrew. Maybe I got a bad bottle??

Hazy yellowish colour with a decent head. Doughy taste with a spicy aftertaste.
