4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 beastiefan2k (1921) - Lawrence (formely NYC), USA - MAY 28, 2009
US version as Scaldis Refermentee 75th Anniversary. It pours with a medium thick head. It is a dark and murky thick orange color. Aroma is full of ripe fruits (and slightly overripe fruits for that matter as well), only lightly alcoholic, which is surprising. Basically a nice meld of fruit, alcohol, and lots of Belgian yeastiness. Taste chugs right along. There is a nice orange aspect in the flavor as well. Nice thick mouthfeel that plays perfectly with the structure of the beer. Usually Scaldis can be unpredictable with the high alcohol content becoming undrinkable (think the expensive beer in the box) but I thought this brew pulled it off well. 750mL cork&cage in a tulip glass.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 beerbastard (314) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - MAY 27, 2012
Usually the Scaldis beers are too sweet with alot of alcohol presence. This is more balanced with a hop presence. Apple like nose. Candied sweet and booze, but a better counter of hops in the flavor. Not bad at all. Clean finish with a little bit of dryness.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 ericmc83 (206) - Arkansas, USA - MAY 6, 2012
Lasting, white head. Clear, amber appearance. Aroma of sweet malts, apple?, alcohol. Brown sugar, nuts, maybe a little of an earthy note to it, definitely alcohol. Very good brew.

A solid belgian triple. Diabolic strong, but worth to drink. You can feel the power of that 12%. Colour of foam is something like "ecru". Beer has dark-orange i d e a l colour.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Indra (2361) - Overland Park, Kansas, USA - APR 21, 2012
750ml bottle. Aroma of sweet, sugary malts, plenty of brown sugar along with notes of apricot, praline, spice, cellar must, an unusual, green, leafy, almost weedy tone and apparent alcohol. Hazy, light-medium orange-amber color with some fine particulates and a lasting, fine head and plenty of bubbles. Flavor is sweet, sugary, fruity and alcoholic, with notes of cherry, peach and golden raisin amidst strong brown sugary sweetness and bready malts, culminating in a warming, moderately bitter, alcoholic finish. Active, slick, warming, almost prickly mouthfeel, body is very full. Very much in the Scaldis character.

Weak caramelly aroma. Cloudy dark amber colour. Very small white head. The flavour is nicely malty with just a hint of roasted malts. Slightly sweet, but more than balanced by the alcohol. The finish is a bit alcoholic, and with a slightly rough bitterness

Red brown with a weak head and light carbonation. Smell is apple peachy with some breadiness, subtle wood and alcoholic overtones. The taste is warm with apples, caramel, pepper. Bitter, like biting on orange peel. Quite nice.
