It was interesting to try a beer from Saskachewan. It was totally black. Tan foamy head. It looked good. Some alcohol warmth, licorice. A little too perfumey. It has lots of elements of the style, but I agree with Oakes. It just isn't robust enough. Still very good.

imperial stout tasting, march 04: totally black, bubbly tan head. aroma of roasty malt, coffee, raisins and brown sugar/molasses. smooth, buttery mouthfeel. chocolatey front with a bit of funk and dried porcini flavour in the middle. bitter chocolate finish. damn fine for a beer from saskatchewan

Coffee, chicory and milk chocolate aromas. Black as night, small cappuccino head. Chicory at first, coffee and bitter chocolate flavours all compiment one another. Bitter, almost oily texture. Terrific, Thank You Stephen Beaumont via mr._kimchee!

This was a surprise treat and earns a special thanks to mr_kimchee and Stephen Beaumont. A Saskatchewan Stout from a province that I have yet to really explore. Black w/oily head. Kinda buttery with the requisite coffee and chocolate. Nice lingering aftertaste although it was too thin for a serious Imperial Stout. Still, quite nice.

UPDATED: MAR 10, 2004 Deep brown in colour, almost black. Aroma of dark chocolate, creamy with a hint of smoke. Flavour was quite smooth, medium body, cream, coffee, dark chocolate. Finish is smooth and creamy. Very nice stout, you would never think that this was from Saskatchewan. Many thanks to mr_kimchee and Stephen Beaumont.

Very dark. Heavy molasses tones and smooth dark malts. Hint of tangy black malts. Mellow overall character, some dark chocolate. On the lighter side for the style, but well-rounded and enjoyable. To change one thing, I’d make this a bit meatier.
