Very nice cranberry, translucent red with no head to speak of.
White wine vinious, almost mineral, it reminded me of a wine from the Alsace region, but with a twist of red fruit, strawberry being predominant, and more flowery than sweet on the nose.
Low carbonation, bing cherries and raspberries were invoked at first, the raisin making a later appearance. Again, the aftertaste was crisp like a sharp white. I felt the alcohol more in my chest than on my palate. Compared to the other meads I remember sampling, this one had a much better balance of sweetness, acidity and dryness. A distinguished drink to be sure!
