Pours dark brown and lots of yeast floating around with a big brown head that takes a while to recede. Nose is spruce, leather, citrus and toast. Taste is very uniquie and complex. It’s a constant changing wave of sweet and bitter ending up with a good bitter aftertaste. Mouthfeel is crisp and lively, light body with a huge finish. Another good one!
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 rauchbierlover (452) - Roma, ITALY - OCT 6, 2012
Simply amazing! I Usually I don’t drink twice in a week the same brew, but this beer was so surprising that I craved for more. Pour deep black with a small, persistent tan head. Aroma is hoppy like an american IPA, but when you first sip it, here’s the first surprise: intense notes of dark chocolate and coffee, which disappears in a while, leaving a dry citrus finish on your tongue. Body is medium, with a nice carbonation. ABV is well hidden. Overall a good balanced beer
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 Mortlach (745) - Rome, ITALY - AUG 31, 2012
