Delicious. Dry. Well attenuated. Bitter noble hops. Clearly doesn’t travel well, which is a shame, as this is delicious fresh. Rerate of: 1l bottle (SOPP2009) (5:3:5:3:10=2.6)
Plastic erasers, bananas, some almost wheaty light grain aroma. Body has more banana and light grains - full and slick, but perhaps a touch sticky. Quite simple, but tasty.
Probable rerate (Riga Beer Festival 2010) (4:2:4:3:8=2.1)
Aroma full of cottage cheese. Pale, no head. Vegetal and lactic. Spoilt. Soft palate, carbonation low. Thank god the aroma flaws aren’t as bad in the taste. There are some pleasant hints of almonds too. OK beer, just past it’s BB.

My Bottom Line:
Freshly toasted cereals move into herbal hops and their bitterness in this quenching, mineral Lithuanian Šviesus.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the hazy dark blond.
-The soft creaminess of the mouthfeel is lovely.
-The flavor profile is balanced.
-Light hay flavors are found within.
-Discreet pear fruitiness adds depth.

On tap at Šnekutis Užupis and from many bottles.

1L bottle from Piwoteka, best before Feb 5, 2011. Pours nicely, bright gold, good head, head stays around. Aroma is grainy, slightly funky; pale malt, sugar, bread, and a slight yeast spice. The flavor is *much* less wild than the other beer from here I have tried. This is slightly more of a traditional lager (bread, bread, and more bread - and did I say some hop herbs and floral characteristics?), and the least crazy beer from Lithuania I have had in this glut. I like it. Massively easy to drink.
