Bottle, 5.5%. Buttery aroma. Cloudy red/brown colour. The flavour is buttery, malty, hint of roasted barley. Rough bitterness. Would have been good without the butter, I guess.

Senka (118) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - SEP 26, 2012
1L bottle. Yeast, and loads of it. Very sharp taste. Pours with a frothy had, that dissipated in 15seconds. Dark orange in colour, cloudy. Light body for a dunkel. Oily, no carbonation. Not the most pleasant Finnish. Will re-rate if ever get another one. This beer travelled too much, and the BBE is less than 10 days.

Bottle. Hazy dark brown with an off white foam. Aromas are chocolate, caramel and weetabix with some smokiness. Bready yeast with raisins and hints of banana. Flavours are very sweet malts with autumn fruit and cookie dough. Spicy, sweet and dry on the finish. A bit thin bodied compared to the aromas. Decent.

Quack-Duck (6811) - Down South, GERMANY - AUG 6, 2012
Bottle from Baltic Branch Dover. Hazy golden brown, big creamy off-white head. Sour aroma. Starts quite sour for a second, then lovely malt flavours set in, with a delicious touch of caramel. The sourness lingers in the background and goes well with the caramel, earthy hops and hints of mint. There is a tiny touch of smoke in the lingering finish Extremely unusual - extremely delicious and moreish.

ElDesmadre (944) - Mikołów, POLAND - JUL 24, 2012
Bottle. Dark amber, slightly hazy, medium sized head. Toasted malty aroma with caramel and toffee plus what you’d expect from a farmhouse beer from Lithuania - hay, bread, honey, flowers and old wood. Very soft taste, a bit yeasty and toasted flavour full of rural farmyard notes. Light to medium carbonation, light bitterness, doughy malty mouthfeel. Very good.

rauchbier (3395) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - JUL 14, 2012
1 litre bottle from an ethnic foodstore in Scunthorpe. Faintly hazy deep red-brown, thick longlasting white head and gentle condiion. Pleasant fruity nose with hints of burnt toffee, buttery caramel, some hebal notes and a musty barnyard yeastiness. Quite dry and soft in the mouth with a muted phenolic smokiness blended nicely with toast, toffee and a slight nuttiness. A tingle of bitterness absentmindedly bounces off some raisin fruit notes and it all combines to make it pleasantly quaffable. The finish retains some of the burnt phenolic notes and a sweet fruitiness lingers with a grainy mineral note. A strange but not unpleasant spicy tingle clings to the tongue after everything else has dissipated.
