Bottled. Pours cloudy darker brown in color with a tan head. Sweet, some dark fruits and bready malts mostly in aroma. Feels quite soft. Dark fruits, just hints of minerals and sweet dark bready notes in taste.

The head is robust, the body orange-gold. It smells malty, flowery, interesting. The taste is malty, a bit bitter, malty. Overall a bit boring but ok. 11/10/9/9/-/9

Bottle from Dan N, thanks. Very short brown head. Clear red-brown color. Huge rye aroma. Sweet taste but a fine body.

OleR (4802) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 2, 2010
From bottle, shared by larsga. A layer of tan bubbles over a clear mahogny body. Smell of sweet dark bread and tinned fruits. Some fruity acidity and spices as well. Heavily sweet flavor. More dark bread, sweet cookies too. Also dark dried fruits and a certain acidic fruitiness balancing the sweetness. Oily texture. A very well composed Kvass with super drinkability.

larsga (6323) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 14, 2010
Small beige head. Deep brownish red barely translucent body. Raisiny spicy rye aroma. Dry-sweet rye raisins and cinnamon taste with oily earthy honey notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft faintly oily mouthfeel. Dry-sweetish bready roasty earthy rye aftertaste with spicy notes. Excellent, and extremely drinkable, despite the sweetness. (0.33l draft at Snekutis Uzupis, Vilnius.)

Draught, from the owner of Snekutis, thanks big bearded-non-English speaking-lots of Gira drinking mister! :-) Read 0,5% alc. from the menu. Sweet bready aroma, bit of dark fruits. Hazy deep dark brown colour. Ok mouthfeel. ´Sweet dark bready malty flavour, Not so thick and sweet as I thought. Fresh and tasty.

Disclaimer - I *love* real kvasses! Sweet treacly aroma. Even treaclier taste. Cake with raisins and butter. Liquid fruit-loaf. Simply delicious, but very sweet.

Pretty much the perfect gira. Lovely burnt treacly aroma. Very dark, fizzy head. Fizzy in the mouth too, a bit like a soft drink, with the stickiness being cut through by the fizz. Lovely taste, such a full treacly darkness, but without the usual sugary sweetness. Drinkability very high. Finish finally puts a bit of butter and baked raisins into the mix. Absolutely top gira. Modern soft drinks have no reason to exist while there’s stuff like this in the world.
