(Butcher’s Tears Megaera) Stubby bottle 330 ml at home, served into a tulip, ABV 6% Orange coloured body with a huge and quite thick off-white head. Good retention, mostly because of size. Spots of lacing on the glass. Light perfume on the aroma and very nutty, some apricot too. Taste is also nutty, some yeast, light fruity notes. Medium thin body, high carbonation. Okay.

Hugely foamy head. Classic and modern hops, spruce, caramel malts (but soft). Spritzy. Yeast is a bit fruity perhaps. Very foamy mouth feel, but I don’t mind. Nice Belgian ale. (33cl bottle from SpeciaalBierPakket Leiden)

(Draught at Butcher’s Tears, Amsterdam, 23 Aug 2014) Hazy amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with orange, apricots and bready malt. Malty, fruity taste with notes of apricots, citrus, dried fruit and a generous citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain malt sweetness. Fresh and tasty. Nice one.
